I have been gettting a lot of pm's about the modifications to the hood on the third build in the WKM stable this year. As previously posted the carbon M1100 is nicely under way and performing beautifully. The carbon TM8 is still getting tested with the belt drive getting some modifications.
Ditched the headlight, built a full plenum that ducts into the factory elbow. Also ducted in the working factory intake on the right side of steering post. The throttle response and top end is so much better then the stock intake set up. I knew it would be after riding beside the carbon M1100 with the new intake. It was a lot of work to make the goggle bag fit in with the 3" forward. Had to move everything 6" forward, building new mounts for the guage and windshield. Had to shave the lower flat part of the windshield off. Really happy with the looks and performance. Rolled her more than a few times and tree bashed it with Bret over the weekend on our second WKM sponsered Ramussen ride in Vale. Held up perfect. She's no trailer queen, she's built to ride. Could have made the hood lighter but an extra pound or two is worth sh#t not breaking. Haven't weighted it, paint was barely dry when it went into the trailer on Thursday, but I will. -35 here so no hurry to move it out of trailer.
The list so far:
Rox 6-8" adjustable risers with a set of Fatbars with a Fabcraft strap
C3 3" forward post
Hindle 14" pipe
Antigravity 12 cell battery
Cat Stomp seat cover
Snobunje lefty throttle
Hijacker 2.0
Custom hood with headlight delete and cold air plenum
SnoPro tank bag
Cat goggle bag
Next up:
battery relocate
Set of Scott's Zero Snow chromoly boards
A/F and boost guages
build charge tube for 3" forward post
Vented side panels and side hood panels
Lot's more planned but want to get the box tuned and clutching nailed down. Such a good platform to start with. I hope guys that are new to 4s realize how good this thing is.
