Alpha Sliders

I have roughly 450 miles on my alpha and have this exact thing happening, little ribbons of hyfax on the track clips. Track is aligned like it should be. Must be a normal wear thing probably gonna need hyfax more often that a conventional skid. Also had the rear idler wheels jump a nubbin after getting stuck and caused the track to unalign man did it vibrate for the 20 feet I rode it before I stopped and fixed it. Just had to loosed the rear axle and get the rear idlers back in their groves. Hopefully this isn’t a common occurrence.

The spec is 2” of slack with a 20lb weight hanging from the track, half way between the drivers and the rear wheels. I tightened mine to 1.5” and added some pressure to the front skid shock so hopefully that’s the cure.

I also heard backordered until mid January. I think they’re the same style sliders as the twin rail sleds but the dealer did say they’re 3” longer and so they have their own part number. I think for now I’ll just flip mine around so the notches are at the back. Cat denied the warranty claim on mine, they said that my track tension was too loose. Maybe I’ll take a video checking track tension each morning for proof if it happens again haha.
