Been riding 153s forever, very fun and agile, but getting a little fatter and a lot older and am thing about 165 Alpha to wheelie less and sneak around in the deep better, ride a little slower instead of charging through the trees hoping I make it lol

all my M sleds were 162, all Proclimbs have been 153:juggle::juggle::juggle:

Yes I have ridden a 154 Alpha

I have a 165.
Thinking about going back to a 154.
I miss the crazy out of control wheelies!
The 165 keeps the skis down more than i like. Then on some crazy climbs, i was so happy to have the 165, 154 i would have flipped over or turn out....

I'm going back. Always liked 150ish sleds better but did the 165 on the last two due to boost. I did flip my alpha over backwards. That is the first long sled I ever flipped. Probably because the tunnel is shorter on the alpha. 154 is just more fun and playful. It is quicker to do stuff is what I really like. The 154 will go to all the same places but sometimes a little more interesting getting there.

Hey Dave, Randy bought a 165 Alpha this season. If you wanted to try it I am sure he would let you ride it around. Probably find us in OC Sunday...

I am going to stay with a short one, not quite ready to slow down yet.

I currently have a 2018 MC 153 and rode a 165 the other weekend. I missed the playfulness of my 153. Sled was pretty planted wouldnt wheelie on demand like my 153 would. All depends what type of riding you are going after. i like to play/freeride quite a bit

The longer sled will float better, get stuck less. Sidehill better, go slower through the trees. Really, the only drawback to the longer sled is the wheelies. Shorter sleds wheelie better.

Would you guys say a 165 would help a rider that’s not very advanced? Currently on a 153 16 proclimb and still learning a lot..

Depends what you mean by "help". The 154 takes more effort to ride it helps you to develop your skills and ride more aggressively. The 165 is going to help you get stuck less and have a more forgiving ride. If you are just having a hard time even following your buddies then the longer sled may be a good option til you get a better feel for keeping your momentum etc... The other main factor is your size. Most people over 200 will find the longer sled much easier.

I’m not a big guy, 160 without gear but I ride with a group that’s more experienced so the “keeping momentum” makes sense

I am the bigger guy, 225 in my b-day suit, and ride a 153. Most of my riding buddies are on longer machines, a couple on Doo 174/175 sleds. I do think it helps them keep up, and on REALLY deep days they are going a few places I have to work to get to. These are almost all smaller guys, the Doo guys are both under 180 lbs I suspect.

I do not see how you really NEED a longer track to keep up. When I go between my '17 153 and my buddies '16 162, his feels like a pig IMO. I MUCH prefer mine. He also has a 165 Alpha now. THAT is a revolution and, seems a step up from my '17 153 despite the added length.

I am still getting the 154 though...

Ill come up Sunday, I can at least talk to him

I rode the 154 Aplha and didn't think it wheelies horrible like some say

It doesnt wheelie bad till you get to a certain height point doing wheelies. Then with a hand full of throttle it can quickly come back on top of you. Usually in a steep trenched out pull in the trees.

^^this. lol.

How does the 154" compare to the old 153" as far as craziness and wheelies? I'm a fatty at 250lbs nekked and have always rode/preferred 153"s and done fine, but will admit there have been a few occasions the wheelies have gotten me into trouble. I like a more playful sled but if the alpha 154" is much more of a wheelie monster it might be time for me to concider moving up to a 165"

154 wheelies more than the 153. New track has way more traction and can just keep digging to wheelie out quicker

I love my 154 so playful. Mostly ride creeks, trees and meadows easy to control the wheelies just so much fun.Had a 18 Cat Alpha has way more traction.

track length

I love my 154!! With the 900 kit too its insanely fun!!

I think too many people think they need a longer track and are missing out how fun a 154 is! Especially with the new track design that works so well.
This sled simply makes riding easier.

When in doubt, put your feet towards the rear of the boards and punch it, it's amazing what it will go over and where it will take you!!
