Alexander Lodge report II

Yes, the rumors are true! I'm back! The week in the desert was fun, but its good to be back up on the mountain. Thank you to the "man behind the curtain" for starting this thread and to everyone that came up and kept the crew busy while I was gone. Now that I'm back I'll do my best to keep everyone up to date on the snow conditions.

Current snow condition is excellent. Lots of deep powder to play in on this side of the Mesa. Reports are that there have been several slides on the Powderhorn side and the south slopes are a little sketchy still, but the fields, lakes and trees are full of deep powder.

Sorry for the lack of updates, been busy fixing and breaking the SnoCat. We got a good 10"-12" of powder Wednesday but there was a lot of wind so it has drifted. We are here and open regular hours, just be aware that the lot is not plowed until I can get a welder up here to fix the Cat. The dam is clear and you can get in and out, I just didn't get the lot plowed before it broke.

SNOW.....We be getting it! Its not heavy or wet, but its coming down (+2" since 7am) and by the look of the forecast it isn't letting up soon. Visibility currently isn't the greatest, but there is little to no wind so far. I'll try to keep you up dated as the storm progresses.

Just an FYI, I got the snocat repaired and should have clear parking again for this weekend. Remember, parking is limited, so if you are planning to come up the best thing to do is give us a call @970-856-2539 and we'll reserve you a spot.

Hope to see everyone soon.

There's a poker run leaving out of your place on Sunday, right? Should be lots of fun -looks like 1 1/2 to 2 feet of new snow by then - yay!

What? One of us is wrong - the poster says Sunday March 2nd for the
Snokruser poker run.

I'm sorry for the misinformation. The run is Sunday March 2nd. We were given the wrong information or someone (we won't mention Natalie's name :face-icon-small-win )wrote down the wrong information.

We've gotten around 12" out of this storm but the wing hasn't been kind and it has drifted a lot. We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. Also, if you are planning to play hookie on Monday I'll be here and have the doors open till 6:00pm. I won't be here Tuesday but should be back Wednesday.

We found a German Shepard type dog on the trail sunday. Natalie was nice enough to let her hang out for the day. Hopefully someone knows her and picks her up from the llodge!

Thanks for bringing her to the lodge. One of our regulars recognized her and we were able to get her back home where she belongs. She had run away from Elk Ridge Lodge down by Old Grand Mesa road on Friday. Thank you again for bringing her in.
