ALEXANDER LODGE CLOSED?

Hello sledders, it appears there's been some mis-information floating around..

so .........breaking news!!.....

THE ALEXANDER IS OPEN! and has been all winter!
On Sunday at 4pm, we did shut-down for a trip to town for supplies.
Sorry for the inconvience.

But in the future, please...give us a courtesy call (970 856 2539) before posting malicious rumors that could affect our current and future business. Thank you.

The Lodge.

I read this and have mixed feelings....if I come to the mesa and rely on Alexander for food and beverage I can count on them because they have been open all winter, but they may not be if they need supplies? Maybe I will count on them needing supplies and bring my own food and beverage to play it safe.

Horrible to hear about those involved with the avalanche.

Sounds like your safe bet is staying at THUNDER MTN LODGE! Good luck that,

I here the Hideway has a famous lassagna. That's what the locals have said.... cheers

The current operating hours for the Lodge are Thurs-Sat. 8:00a.m.-9:00p.m., Sun. 8:00a.m.-6:00p.m. (we do stay open later if there are customers wanting to hang out). We are technically closed Mon.-Wends. (cabins are available all week), but I am here the majority of the time and keep the doors open for you to come in. If you are wanting lunch on a day we are closed, let me know ahead of time and I will turn the oven on for you. If the doors are locked its because I either had to run to town for personal reasons or I am out in the Snow Cat.

As for last Sunday, I was out of town (like I mentioned in the original Alexander Lodge Report thread) and Natalie was here by herself. They had had a extremely busy weekend and had another party coming in on Monday so it was necessary to restock some of the supplies. We are sorry if it inconvenienced you, but it was necessary.

The "NO Parking" signs are in place to keep people from parking either on top of what is nothing more than a pile of snow pushed out into the draw across from the lodge, or from blocking access to our facilities and equipment.

We appreciate the business each and every one of you bring us and are doing everything we can to keep the Lodge available to you. Like mentioned earlier, If you ever have any questions please call the Lodge @ 970-856-2539.

Thanks again,
Mike

See you Saturday! We plan on dragging a couple of reporters in for lunch. First though we are going to show them how much fun snowmobiling can be!

Ray, get the sand out of your VAGINA! What a Putz.
My original post was posted as a QUESTION as when I was there Sun. night along with 4 people in 2 vehicles one of the locals stopped when we were outside and told us it was closed. That didn't seem right so I posted to find out the TRUTH. I have been sending people to them, GML, and Cedaredge Lodge all winter when they have called us for cabins. Look at the other posts on here, you will see I have been trying to help them all winter! I want to see them open. Posts like your last one are probably going to hurt them more than help by attacking customers coming to the Mesa.
Natalie & Mike, sorry if you took my post the wrong way and if you want I will have the whole thing deleted. Believe me I know how hard it is to have everything for everyone all the time. Running out of supplies happens, no big deal, most people understand that. Thought you would like to know what the locals are saying. Please let me know. Thanks, Mark
TO EVERYONE ON HERE ALEXANDER IS OPEN FOR CABINS, RESTAURANT, BAR!

Oh, I forgot Ray, it was ROSCOE'S not the Hideaway that had the famous Lasagna. Too bad you were turned down for some. I hear! Just so you get your gossip straight! Have a great day on the mountain.

No need to delete the thread Mark. You posted a question and now everyone should be informed on what was/is going on. In all honesty, its a rare thing to see anyone up here Sunday's after the sun goes down and that's why Natalie felt it was safe to close when she did. If she would have known there were people coming over she would have stayed until they were served. At this point its water under the bridge and we will go from here.

Mike

Ray hope y'all enjoy the ribs up at Alexander this weekend that i got you.
We might try and make a trip up there in a couple of weeks.

Alexander opened on a Wednesday for me the last week of January for measly hour and a half. I called ahead and let them know we were coming and they were more than happy to take care of us. We enjoyed the service and food!
We will definitely be back!

Well if you are expecting much of a menu, don't. We were there yesterday. There are like 5 items on the menu - chili, pizza, nachos, bbq pork sandwich, burrito - that's it. Food's good, beer's cold but full service restaurant it ain't. Missing Thunder Mountain personally -

You cant decide between chili, pizza, nachos, pork sandwich or a burrito? Maybe it will be better when scallops are in season. Should throw some duck on there. Hell I'll set ya up with some pheasant. Lobster?

Honestly what else does a guy need to eat at a trailhead? Heard a rumor that they don't always even put a slice of lemon in the water:face-icon-small-sad.

Hey I wasn't knocking the place - just making sure people knew what they were getting. Like I said the food was good and the beer was cold. But it is NOT a full service type restaurant. It's much more of an appetizers and drinks type place WHICH IS FINE.

Thank you for the much needed info regarding your hours. My own fault for being ignorant and not realizing or looking into them before I opened my big cyber mouth. Sounds like the snow is good and I hope business is as well!
