so with all this new technology out i was just wondering what people thought "the best" is and why???

The airbag should help to keep your head above the snow so you don't need an avalung

If you snowmobile in a full face helmet, I am not sure how you propose to get the avalung mouth piece in your mouth when the slide starts.

Husband has both, quit using avalung when I bought him the airbag. He rides with an open face helmet, it was never an issue to put the lung in before heading up the hill! The purpose of the airbag is to keep u up on top of the snow, so hopefully u won't need the lung. Guess it depends on how much money u want to spend!

Do you want to be buried or on top of the snow? 98% chance of being on the surface or having the air bag visible on the surface if you deploy the avalanche airbag pack. People suffer fewer injuries with a deployed avalanche airbag pack.
It's an easy decision, avalanche airbag packs are much more effective than an avalung. Mike Duffy

Their is no comparison between the 2, airbag all the way IMO!

After Saturday I am a big believer in the airbag. Friend was covered to his goggles and the air bag kept him from being buried. Sled was underneath him. He was almost vertical with airbag sticking out of the snow.

Which airbag was he using?
How big was the slide?
