Looking to increase the bottom end power on my SIL's '05 M7. I have read on here that bumping up the compression helps. Should we just have the head milled or is it worth buying an aftermarket head?
I had rkt recut my stock head on my m7 and had good results. He reconfigured the domes on top of just increasing compression. Back when I had it done it was like $180, but that was almost 10 years ago.
You will experience gains with either option. Reshaping the combustion chambers is the best option, but this motor responds really good to a .010" cut as well.
