Aftermarket Front Bumpers

I made my own front bumper for my 07 Dragon, had to. Used an old GT BMX frame. Looks pretty cool and will definitly do its job, knock down trees. Totally free.

Not Quite sure when the side panels will be ready. The one that you see on the wall came out of the mold Saturday Morning.

One very nice feature of the side panel is that the vent is recessed into the panel and not just riveted to the outside.. Should be very popular, but we should talk about that on another thread.

I baught a Cobe bump from Fastrax last year. I bought the 09 convertion kit with bumper for my 08. I had trouble making it fit and tried talking to curt at fastrax. He got it to work for me, but it never really fit like I thought it should. So with that in mind I would not buy the Fastrax Bumper. I would try the Skinz bumper next time.

My .02

Just thought I'd chime in here. I blew my computer up with the old coffee cup flipping in the air trick earlier this year when I had my knees rebuilt so I haven't kept up very well with this damn phone for typing everything Lol!
I appreaciate everyone who has purchased one of my bumper kits very much. As I think most of you who kept up last year already know when I developed mine there was only one option out there for an 05' - 08' aftermarket front bumper option. I kinda made mine out of neccessity so to speak to get my sled ready for the Mod show in Boise last year. We put it up on SW for some reaction and then all hell seemed to break loose. Pretty soon there was more than 5 options available, all very well built in my opinion. I still think all of us out their have good products and all have their own personality built in to them. My own personally was to have something strong easy to take on and off without a lot of cutting involved. Also I know a lot of people didn't cater to mine because it left the stock plastics in place. Again everyone has their own reasons but I wanted my design to be seperate of the hood mounts. I hit things all the time and did not want to chance skewing the hood when and if the bumper bent. This worked well for me lol!! When I took the 15lb sledge to straighten things out the plastic remained untouched. They don't call me TreeDog for nothing!! As for the other options out there. Wow, a lot of good work!! I can only wish my little concept helped to further some great new choices.
As it stands I still think the Tri Cities is the strongest out there. Just seems to be a lot of cutting. And for upgrading plastics the Cobe is very sweet!! I also received a great e-mail from the owner of Skinz last year on his bumper release all of a sudden coinciding with mine and being a lot cheaper. (Very unexpected and very cool gesture!)
I understand buisness is buisness and I hope they know by no way did I mean to step on peoples toes that do this for a living. I actually have their products on my sled already and would have bought their bumper if it had been an option at that time. Skinz makes great products! (I do though still disagree with incorporating the hood hinge into the system for the reasons I explained above.Lol)
That all being said, I do believe our Treedog design has some distinct advantages for strength, and ease of installation for someone on a budget and not a ton of mechanical skill. The bumper is solid and I can attest as I know others out there can. The only one I know of to break one last year is BigDawg in Iowa, and I believe it had something to do with his brother hitting him with his sled with another one of my bumpers LOL!! Sounds like a group I could deffinately fit in with. (And yes I believe all the plastic survived!)
Anyway sorry to take up so much time. I am still making bumpers and selling them just a little slower on this damn phone. If you'd like info please pm me and I will get back to you quickly.
Again thanx to all of you that have purchased a TreeDog bumper and thank you to those that keep building more great aftermarket parts.

Hi guys, figured I better pop in here and let you know that we are in production with the carbon fiber skid plate now for the CoBe' bumpers we sell. Its a full bulk head coverage skid plate for those of you looking for a bit more protection for your sleds sensitive areas! They sell for $90.00 and fit all current and past IQ bumpers we've built.

AWESOME...

Curt they look awesome..wouldnt exspect anything less from Fastrax..

Do you think the skid plates will work with the 09 front end for those with the skinz 09 bumper...i would assume the skid plate would just rivot to the 09 plastic nose..or does a bumper have to be in place...

Again...EXCELLENT products!!

They are designed to be used with the CoBe' bumper only-is there interest in us building a plate for a stock sled that is similar under the bulk head and wraps around the nose of the sled?
