Aftermarket Front Bumpers

Skinz Bumper

Just installed my new Skinz bumper last night. Looks great and seems like it will be very durable!

does anyone have pics of the skinz bumper on a 08 rmk or 09 switchback with the old belly pan and white hood

Preferably in raw aluminum

I got a cobe from curt at ftx motorsports and it is very nice. I had it chromed at Queen City Plating Inc Mukilteo WA at www.queencityplating.com to have something a little different. They did a super job on it and were great to work with. They have been doing it for over 85 years. They do all kinds of plateing.Curt was allso impressed with there work.I think curt to has pictures of it. I will post some when i get it on.

Running the Tri-City on my sled. Love it, have taken down some pretty decent sized trees instead of busting up the front.

Personally any aftermarket bumper is better than the stocker, so go with what you like and what the budget can afford.

My vote is for the SKINZ bumper. Installed it myself. Best $200 i have spent. Broke 2 of the stock plastic ones. Speaking of the stock plastic ones....I never understood why they made this fragile bumper in the first place. It not only is plastic itself...but is anchored to plastic too. Hummm....engineering at its finest...lol Any hoooo....skinz ROCKS!!

that's my .02 :)

Chrome! Yes... that's an awesome idea! I'll bet tree pitch will wipe off easier?? :p

I'll bet that is going to look great, can't wait to see it!

Found out today that Curt is going display my bumper at the Puyallup Snow Show and I can pick it up Sunday evening! Yes!!! Cant wait to see the new Carbon Fiber skid plate mounted to it!!:D

Hey vinnee get a picture up with the skid plate on when you can! Hope i still can still see some of my chrome with it on!!! Dont care as long as it helps save my chrome after a rock or stump.

07/08 owners
Thanks everyone
Looks like the Skinz bumper is the popular choice for sledders on a budget.

Don't have any info/pricing on the treedog bumper? Anyone?

Going to the Denver show this weekend any of these vendors going to be there:confused:?
Thanks Pete

You can find Treedog(username) on the forums, great guy to deal with. His bumper would be my second choice to the CoBe bumper.

Good Luck!!!

Agreed!! :beer;

Just installed the 09 plastic.

Ordered my Cobe a few days ago through Curt at Fastrax.

Question for ya, who is making the 09' front end kit, as I have an 08' that's smashed up ? Thanks

Damn...you always have way cool $hit, nice bumper and sled!! Love the REAL white skis, unlike PP's that have a piss in the snow color when in the snow. Nice A-arms and shocks, however...

I vote for treedogs bumper!! After watching one flip off the rocks end over end 8 times, it made a believer out of me.

Does anyone know if Treedogs bumper will fit the 09's?

I will be looking into the Skinz one that is for sure. My finally gave up the ghost while moving it around in the bed of a truck. Thought, well better here then on the hill.

As for the Cobe one, it looks great and doing the plastic mod would be nice but no way is any of it worth the $700+ after taxes and shipping. Come on, us sled heads are nuts most of the time but not that nuts!

Another vote for the Skinz bumper... I absolutely love mine:D Installation was a little difficult, but I would definitely do it again:D

IMHO, this is the bumper design Polaris SHOULD have done from the factory

I also picked up their float plate...nice and thick, should provide some decent protection:)

"Nuts" are determined by the eyes of the beholder. If running a 2009/2010 the Cobe bumper is the only way to go! The quality and craftsmanship in this product is second to none. Also, you have a few advantages with additional protection to the nose cone and awesome mounting surface for the skid plate.

Admittedly, if your converting over a pre/2008, the conversion does get a little spendy, but Hey..... I must be "NUTS" :D If you do convert to the 09 plastic kit, for gosh sakes don't use that crappy aluminum hoop!! We bent one of those last year executing a standard procedure (rollover) in what I would consider to be pretty soft spring snow:confused:

my vote goes for the fastraxs tough as hell, i need to send mine for repairs but it saved my sled.

Thanks guys for the compliments. I am glad to offer a product that helps people enjoy their riding experience.

Vinnee, your bumper is finished and off to the powder coaters tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing how the red looks.

Flit-e, pm or email me some photos and I can give you a estimate what it would take to fix it. We should be able to put it back in the jig and repair it depending on the damage.

Concerning updating to the 09 bodywork (no matter which bumper you go with), I think is worth it for the updated look, performance gain, and may improve the resell value of the sled.

I had the TCP bumper on my 08 Dragon. Tougher than hell but expensive and sort of cobby looking even if you rivet the plastic pieces back in to make it look stock. I have the Skinz bumper on my 09 Turbo Dragon. It is a very sanitary setup and the price was right. I think that the bumper cost me $179 if my memory serves me correctly.

Just put the Skinz front and rear on my new 09 they are top of the line like em alot sold three while sled was on stand
