I like the pro taper tall bars the axys comes with, I just get hand cramps. Was thinking of getting a handlebar with a bend where you're hands are. Kind of the ski-doo bars. Has anyone done this if so how did you like it and what brand and bend of bars did you go with.

I switched out to a set of Dan Adam's NXT LVL bars and narrowed the width. Great upgrade, they have a different profile and the narrower width helped too.

I use to get a slight pinch in my back / shoulder area, since changing, no more issues!!

I had the dan adams bars on my pro, narrowed as much as possible. And I would get the same hand cramps. I have the stock height bars on my axys also narrowed.

Larger diameter bars maybe? I corked the bars on my last sled and that made them quite a bit bigger around, helping with hand pain/fatigue. Never have had issues with cramps though.

Bars were stock for a bit. I add heat shrink under the grip heaters, instead of cork. Same cramp both ways

Ya heat shrink work very good. Had it on my pro for 2 seasons and my axys for 1 season.

I was getting cramps as well, the stock bar grips/diameter was just too small. This is the cheapest solution I could come up with and it works great for me, it is very similar to the skidoo bars.
1) RSI long handlebar hooks
2) RSI grips - much fatter than stock (Can't remember if I got the 7" or 8" ones... sorry)
"

The hooks make the bars significantly wider, which I love, but I'm a big guy. If you like em the stock width, you'd probably want to cut about 1" from each side. Here's a pic of what the result is with stock bar width, hooks, and grips:

RSI. Is there any way to add the axys mountain strap to the setup that you showed above. ?

There are universal mountain bars that will fit the Backcountry Tapered. In our opinion you don't need a mountain bar with the new sleds being so light and nimble.
