This whole fuel thing is starting to get me mad.

Who can we bomb to fix this?

Don't worry, Obama will soon be in office with a Dem controled congress. Then all the poor people in this country with a sense of entitlement will finally get everything they want with out having to work for it. See socialism in the dictionary. Add one more to the list of needy, the guy I had to lay off yesterday because I'm getting taxed out of the business I own. Something tells me those that are complaining the most on here about getting screwed don't have to worry about that.

High priced food doesn't bother me.

I like seeing the farmers do well.
I don't like seeing the oil barons & shieks raping us at will.

There's people that actually believe that!!!! No, really, it's true...

I'll bet someday we will wish we had today's prices.

the problem with a high priced food is the farmers get screwed they do not get any more for their grains or animals. the grocery store is bending us over on that one.

Have you talked to a farmer lately?? Even though their grain prices might be better than previous years, the cost of doing business has gone up drastically as well. I'd like to see one chime in and give us their first hand knowledge on this, I know fertilizer costs are outrageous, fuel, tires, bins, oil, insurance, all of that stuff has gone up.

So I should buy 100 barrels of oil today at 118 (or whatever) and sell it at the end of the week for 120-122??? Hmmm... 3-4k in a week, yes that would buy a lot of gas.....

Ya the cost of the fuel is going to hurt the farmers but if the prices stay as high as they are right now they will do very well.

Yes, Many of my friends farm, I was raised on a farm & my family & my wifes family rent out land, so yes we do have a finger on the pulse of todays farmer.

Yes the farmers investments are at record highs, but so are the returns for their efforts. (along with cash rent:D)

Also there is no business sector that will re-invest into the economy as vigorously as the farmer.
When they make money.....They spend money!!

Let's all buy into the great lib plan. Look for alternative fuel sources. Let's make our food into fuel....now we need a alternate food source. More political bull$chitt. He!! let's make fuel 10 bucks a gallon. The freeways were still packed yesterday it's going to stay that way and fuel companys know it. You want more fuel, drill more oil or pay the price. Maybe vote out some of the dinosaurs in DC and let em know they can be replaced. So they start working for the people instead of their own retirement. Rant paused, not over.

Do you realize Congress tried to end or cut back on government subsidies & tax breaks to the oil companies?
Did you know it was our beloved GW Bush that threatened to veto such action, thus killing it?

This is assenine!
We subsidize & give tax breaks to what is among the most profitable industries in the nation.
WTF!!!:mad::mad::mad:

Yet we have those among us that think his excrement is pleasant to the olfactory systems of the American vertebrate.:face-icon-small-win

Mafesto, actually the democrats in congress tried to kill the oil tax breaks and incentives package. If 60% of congress would vote that way, they could force the change through.

If I were the oil companies I'd ask for a year off from tax breaks, just for the public relations point of view. It'd be cheaper than advertising.

I voted for Bush......twice. (not that there was a credible alternative)
I was supportive of him at first, but have slowly realized just how poor of a Pres he really is.
But I have refrained from being very vocal aginst him.
Until now.
Threatening to veto this is absolutely unforgivable given the current fuel prices & record profits his oil buddies are enjoying.
Corruption at it's finest!

I've never uttered these words before... but....
Kerry probably would have been a better President.:(

Still glad we don't have to know about Kerry. It's been awhile since we had a good choice though. Hold your nose and pick the best of the bad. Still think congress has the biggest say no matter who's in the White House.

Until we in the US start drilling oil and producing our own fuel, you will continue to see outragous fuel prices.

We need to dril Anwar, we need to build refineries.

Until we can FORCE (at gunpoint if necessary) the enviro-nazis to back off and let us take care of ourselves, nothing will change.

now here is a stupid (or ignorant if you like) question.
If we can produce bio-diesel, sythetic oil, why can't we produce a sythetic fuel??
