These weights drop in any P-85 clutch and are designed around O.E.M clutch componets. Lower belt temps, harder acceleration, 7-8 hp to the track. Up to 11 grams of adjustment per weight. Thanks for looking, more info at www.mdsclutching.com

If I have a really good set up now with stock weights.. How much will I have to change if I change to your weights? Do you guys your own set-ups for your weights or can I use my set-up with mimial changes like springs and not alot of messing around getting it to run right..

I like that idea better than the MTX with them push rivets. More info and field time would be nice on these for sure!

Yes, but...can you imagine those "screws" coming loose? Crank issues fast! I'd like to know more about the weight setup myself.

I used Heavy Hitters in my '01 800 RMK for about three seasons. Never had an issue with set screws or bolts coming out. They were very easy to fine-tune, even on the mountain. I bought MTX weights for my 900 three years ago and wish I would have gone with the H.H.'s again, Drilling rivets for tuning is a pain.

P-1 weight was designed to work with stock clutch components to make it cost effective so you don't have to shim the spider or spend $$$ on helix's ect. The adjustable grams make it easy to adjust for elevation changes as well as changing snow conditions. As far as any concerns about screws coming loose we use low strength loctite on all of our delivered hardware which should negate any worries about that issue. A lot of sledders play with different spring a rate, that is why we use O.E.M spring rates as a baseline, it’s a good all around start/finish spring. Seems less are into helix change due to cost or knowing what direction (for lack of better word) to go. If a guy pm’s me I’ll pm back common courtesy. Thanks MDS

Agree 100% that is what i am leary about. Harmonics on any clutches are going to loosen up anything. Loctite does make a world of difference, but will it hold to that much vibration/constant movement. I am very interested in these weights dont get me wrong, the ease of use just seems like a great idea, and not having a whole arsenol of weights.
Not to hyjack your thread but who was the one on here doing custom cut weights for the IQ's?

you guys are worrying about the screws too much as long as you prep and loctite them they will not come out!!! i have used a lot of weights with screws similar to these to and never had one come loose!

They are not that much different than the set screws that Ski Doo uses in their pins, until this year I have never had anything but Doo's since 2002 and I have never had one come out or personally known anybody that has, just use some blue loctite on them and never had a problem. I am definitely interested in these weights, they sound promising.

It's all about gripping the belt , your STK weight has more belt slip than ours. P1 weight grabs the belt earlier and has more shiftforce through out the shift, which means less slippage( less belt heat) more hp to the track.MDS

One must keep in mind that the primary AND secondary must be in balance with each other. If the primary over powers the secondary the belt will slip in the secondary and create heat.

7-8 hp gain is wishful. They are a nice option to gain adjustability. But a HP claim like this is wishful

MDS

On the loadcell dyno at 60% load 0 to 45 mph 7-8 hp , and this all around the stk secondary.MDS
