i want in...

Buffalohawk, AKA Eric of Erics Cycle works would like to be an east coast distributor. the bicycle buis slows down in the winter....more time to play and promote the 1 ski lifestyle! the bicycle industry could have some valubul light weight parts for the project...

Hey Gary.. your in my territory now.. as a composite toolmaker/designer
Ive worked on some of the leading composite Ac designs.. From the wheeler 4 pl to the Beechcraft Starship a few stints with Burt Rutan as well with airbus for the first monocoque wing/ engine cowling..
The Jet looks intriguing..are they shipping all kit parts to completion??
I do believe that you can still buy a BD5..Ive flown one and it is an absolute BLAST..scary in fact.
I wish you guys luck..

Off Road Rider,
You have much more Aircraft design experience then myself, and I'm impressed with your accomplishments, heck Scott and I just watched Top Gun 17 times and said were doing it.
Burt Rutan came up to Scott at Oshkosh and complemented him on the plane.
As it turned out, after Scott and I got the design down we went to the a great Aerospace Engineer that verified, calculated, and wind tunnel tested (on computer) the design. We farmed out as much as we could, went to the experts as it were, just like I think the new single Ski Design should take place.
Go to the experts.... From your "brushes with fame" you've done that too.

the Viper MKII is complete (-) Engine, Instruments, Upholstery. Plus you have to build it, plan on around 3-4 year for that. Or have Viper build it for you. All ribs, bulkheads skins spars are all Vacuum Bagged, heat cured and intended as Scratch and glue type construction (very little fab)

I think a Carbon Fiber frame in a Snow Hawk would be *****ing but Expensive, OK I'll stop dreaming and drolling.....

So you flew a BD5, you suck! Damn I hate you! that is "friggin" Cool. You must share the experience with me at some time, but not on this thread. We are tying to design a new Single Ski Traction Apparatus. We really need to talk...you have just impressed the hell out of me........you rock

Care to help in our Design? Can I put you on the list? Your exactly the kind of guy loaded with skills to help??????

-May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.
May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.
-Edward Abbey

Im Happy to help if I can, But I have way to much on my plate trying to build our lighting and aftermarket parts brand..
I would love to swap AC stories, brings me back to a passion I havent visited for many years..
The bd I flew was the prop version.. very cool.. we took off and landed that thing from a residential street... It was amazing, just like taking turns on your buddies dirt bike...

Thanks for putting my name on the board Goodspeed , no offense to myself but you better rank me down towards the bottom of your list. I do have a hi end wide format digital printer tho . No sweat doing all graphics and stickers.

More info...

This is what I found out so far...
Yamaha and Skidoo have both looked into the one ski design(and probably all the major manufactures) however both said no at this time due to there not being enough demand with the general public.
Skidoo works quite a bit with ADB with supplying the engines and doing the calibrations for them so I am sure they have considered things.

From the surveys an ideal one ski FOR THE MANUFACTURES is:

-priced $6-9K (and the manufacture wants profits to be in the thousands at this price point not just in the hundreds)
-made with the majority of the manufactures current products so they can mass produce it at low cost
-designed for trail riding since that is where the biggest market is
-e-tec motor to meet new requirements

What are they waiting for?

The money to go up in value?

E-tec would be nice, talked to the University of Idaho students last year at our show. They were adapting SDI type systems on all the other OEM's two strokes. Want to be single ski riders would justify ponying up a little more for a brand name machine with leading tech. All the rest of the Twoski pieces are as good as they need to be. It's just a Oneski Twoski!:face-icon-small-hap

Soon there's gonna be a boatload of snow bike riders itching for a fix!
