ac dc upgrade for 09 m sleds with turbo

So let me ask a question, with an 09 M8 Boondocker Race Gas Kit with the stock CCU running the fuel board (that is basically a VFD for the stock pump), which uses AC you cannot upgrade? Is there enough AC power left after the EBC,Oil Pump, Fan, lights, handwarmers, to run an A/F gauge or are you stuck with the EGT's?

Im putting my kit together now and the CCU is one of the things I have left to buy. I want to get the right one.

It sounds like use BD Fuel Board sort of limits your power options!
 
On my sled I installed the ccu and used one circuit for the main sled power demands and I used the other open circuit for the fuel pump so the fuel pump circuit from the ecu was used to run my afr. The fuel pump has it's own charge coils in the mag so it was extra power for my project. hope this helps:face-icon-small-hap
 
Not to get off topic but can I run a 07 m1000 ccu on a 08m8 I've got a new 1000 ccu laying around and does anyone have any idea if it would be an upgrade

I'm pretty sure you can. Stators and CCUs all supercede to the same numbers for both M8s and M1000s.

The stock regulator on your 09 is not a CCU as we know it from 07-08. There should be enough AC power left. They must have a rectifier to run the oil pump and fan(maybe the EBC). Otherwise you can install another rectifier and run the AF gauge off of it. Caution!.....Don't ground either the + or - of that rectifier.
