A thank you to some Friends!!

I think I miss the 2 axis. But for the powder I ride , the stock ski would tip up when I stopped and would act like a brake when I would try to take off again. On thinner snow I wouldnt have that problem.

I have not had a chance to try my genII ski, however went out with the family this weekend on low elevation rained on then frozen snow(ice),had my ski in the non set-back position and what a handful.I rode it around for a little while and found I couldn't lay it over at all without going down, ruts were downright terrifying.Changed the ski to set-back position and what a difference.Different snow conditions=different set up.I'm just not content to "just deal with it".

I've run the Gen 2 for 2 years now with the pivot. I tighten up the pivot pretty stiff so it stays pretty level in the powder but does follow the contours on the hard pack. I also run 24" long 2" tall angle iron finns on the outside of the ski to give it more powder hookup. No, it is not great on the trails but it is awesome in the powder. I can manage just enough on the hard pack to get me where I'm going. With a 159" track, I'm not much for hardpack anyways so who's kidding who.

SledR2 made up an adjustable ski setback that allows an adjustable ski position in between the newer ski set back and the older version setback. I run mine about the middle postion which is 2" back from the old setback and about 2" forward of the new setback. This position lightens up the front end to prevent diving when going downhill in powder but still hooks up enough on the hardpack to et me survive going to the powder...my 2c

It all depends on your snow conditions. On icy hardpack I'm a dead man but in powder yee-ha!
