A sometimes no idle and 6000rpm max

I took the sled out for the first time this year and she idled fine at first then she wouldn't idle at all with out jazzing the throttle and then all the way pinned it was a max of 6100 rpms then the next day I started her up and she idled fine. It's a freshly rebuilt motor from Indy Dan. Oh yeah and check engine light is on.
I can't get it in a shop until next week to put a computer on it, I need help and am mechanically inclined. Has anyone had this problem or have any ideas?

Yes. Chances are somewhat good you fouled a plug. That's how mine behaved first thing this winter. I fogged the motor last spring and within the first mile of riding this winter one plug fouled and max rpm was 5,900 or so. I swapped out the plugs and she runs fine now. And no not all fouled plugs look fouled.

Does it seem like it is only running on one cylinder? The 2011 had a lot of injector issues, and I was thinking that maybe one of your injectors isn't working like it should. Could be something to check into. (BTW, you can update to the 2012 injectors which are better, but you have to buy a 2012 ECU and have it flashed.)
