i am looking at buying a 2005 rmk 900 159x2x15 and was wondering how it will handle in the ditches i get to the black hills of south dakota a couple times a year other than that i am ditchbangen. any info would be greatly apreciated. thanks
might wanna look @ a 151 or even 144, depends on how wide your ditches are! lol i had a 159 last year, did some ditch banging, but the ditch was 20 feet wide~
My honest experience is stick to a 144. I have a 151 and back in my home town of Huron, SD it is not any fun to ride. Most of the time a 144 is all you need in the hills and if there is good snow for ditch banging, it is still possible to have fun.
there is absolutely no need for a 159 in the black hills whatsoever the longest I would ever get for the hills would be a 151 maximum but a 144 is perfect for out there a 159 is wayyy overkill
no such thing as over kill. 159 fire cat flat out rocks never have to worry about floating over the pow and lots of traction on the trails. stop to help buddy out and take off or stop to laugh your choice!as for scratchers you need them no matter the length on trails
there is a such thing as overkill as needing a 159 for ditchbanging and riding in the black hills. A 144 will do everything but better and will be alot funner to ride. If your getting stuck with a 144 in ditches or the black hills then something is wrong
thanks for all the info it isnt like i need the 159 i just got a good deal i know it is big but i like the idea of have the 9 and the good ride i have been hearing about i thought i would buy it try it for a year or so and if i didnt like it trade it on somthing a little smaller right now i have a 98 rmk700 136.I have hurd both good and bad on it around here some of the dealers say its ok and some say its to big thanks
Same deal for me, didn't need the 159" but found a deal I couldn't pass up. And I love it on the one trip a year I take to Wyoming. And when the Minnesota ditches have snow it's a blast.
