A must for 6.0 and 7.3 fords

Ford has released a statement saying most injector problems on the 6.0 ford are now due to low fuel pressure. The truck should maintain 50-55lbs of fuel pressure at WOT. The result of this spring sacking out and lowering your fuel pressure is loss in performance, fuel millage, and HP. Ford tech's have been stretching this spring out to do a quick fix to get the trucks threw warenty with no parts cost. What this means for you is a large repair bill later down the road when the truck is out of warenty. One injector alone can cost over $350.00 and thats not including labor. So would you spend $25.00 to cut down on the chances of this happening along with gaining more MPG, and up to 20HP.

This is the same problem in the 7.3 ford but it results in a loss of fuel millage and a loss in performance.

Eightysixd Industries has come up with a cheap $25.00 fix that not only saves you expensive repair costs down the road, but improves fuel millage, and has seen gains up to 20HP and more. Eightysixd fuel spring sets your fuel pressure at 65lbs in your 6.0 ford which is about 10lbs higher then stock when the truck is new. This is a treated spring that will not fade out over 30,000 miles or less like the stock spring and has a lower stress design to insure that it keeps its strenght for the life of your engine.

This part will not only pay for its self if fuel savings, but when is the last time you paid $25.00 for up to a 20 hp gain in your Ford Powerstroke. This spring is a simple install and takes about 15-30 minutes to install. With trucks running larger Injectors, chips, tunners or etc. you can see even bigger gains. This is a must have for all your 6.0 and 7.3 fords.

Who is Eightysixd Industries? I googled them and came up empty. I couldn't find any reference to them or this part on any of the diesel sites either.

It's the new company I started. I own attitude industries which is the sport side of things and eightysixd is the diesel side of things. We've always built products and people have private labled them but it's time to grow and build up are own name. Websight should be up in about a week with all are new products.

Has anybody on here tried one of the regulator springs in a 7.3? If so what kinda results have you seen? Any input would be great.

so i have heard that you need to change out the oil in the oil reservoir on a 7.3 powerstroke, any thoughts? my 7.3 at 240K miles, definitely lacking some power, oil consumption less then a quart in 3K between changes, no smoke when pullin, runs clean 17.5mpg in the summer as long as i keep my foot out of it 5 speed with 410's

The reason I asked is that I put the spring in, but didn't notice much diffrence. Not saying good or bad just wanted to see what anyone else was noticing. If it does save on injectors, which it should, I'd be happy. I've replaced 1 injector already and they are not cheap.

5-20 hp is hard to feel in a 8000lbs truck. But if you did a fuel pressure check you'd see a huge diffrence. This is what saves the injectors on the 6.0

As for changing the oil in the res I never have. MY 7.3 had 250,00 miles before I sold it. But I do recomend an added oil filter it does save on the motor.

I've kinda got the same feeling, Top Notch. Hard to feel the difference, but if it saves me from buying injectors, great. Having the new spring and the stock spring side by side tho, the new one was stiffer, and about an 1/8th inch longer.

I have picked up a little better miliage with mine, not do to driving easier either. When I do a performance update it gets run pretty hard to see if there's any improvements. that to me says the spring has helped. Derek, when I ordered mine we talked about spring length, I don't remember what the stock length was, mine was at 29 mm. I didnt have a caliper handy when I took it out.

On the drivers side of the underhood fuel filter, there's a piece with 4 t-27 torx head bolts, bolted to the outside of the filter housing. Undo the the return line to that piece, pull the four bolts, and the spring is inside. I needed a six inch socket extension, a wobble adapter to get the bolts out, and a couple Keystones. :beer; But I didn't pull the air filter or anything out to do it. I'm sure there are better ways to do it, but it's not a really hard job, and I'm not a mechanic by any means, lol.

Yes this is very easy to install. Takes about 15-20 min on a 6.0 and even less on on a 7.3. This is for the 99 and newer 7.3 and all the 6.0's. We also have the new compressor housing which shows a gain of 18 HP and faster acceleration. Sorry the web isnt up yet but it should be any time.

I've seen this before but from what I've seen another major killer of the injectors if not the main killer is the type of oil you use. Most ppl use rotella t 15w-40 which breaks down 3 times faster then other oils. With the oil bein what fires the injectors, the faster the oil breaks down the more the HPOP has to work which in turn makes the injector not fire properly. Another thing to look at is running a regulated return for the fuel system and also a line from one head the the other to properly distribute fuel to both heads.

The lower stage 1 regulated systems do the same as this spring. Keep it a constant fuel pressure above stock. But instead of spending $350-$550.00 for one of them this only is $25.00

I agree on the oil and have always run full syn. in my truck after break in. The new websight is up and running and things will be added as I get write up's done. Check out www.86dindustries.com
