A/F guage and EGT's?

Just wondering what you guys think if it would be ok just to run a A/F guage to fine tune my sled or should I run some egt's as well. I will be checking piston wash and plug color also, but maybe running both A/F guage and egt's would be a waste of money? My sled is a 09 M1000 with a speedwerx Y, pipe and can with an BDX air intake, and alot of other venting and a boondocker control box. I am new to the whole pipe thing this year and would like to hear of some people's experience with tunning this sled with this setup.

Also what numbers are safe on a A/F guage with this setup? Any info would be greatly appreciated

ran a a/f last year for the first time an i loved it. Had one sensor go bad but wasnt a huge deal. Have u used either before? with egts u almost wanna use them before u mod your sled to get a baseline casue depending where u mount your probes you will get diff numbers. safe af numbers 11.5-13 12.5 wot . running a af your numbers will be high at low throttle. (mine were anyways) Do a search theres lots of info on here about both. Above is just my experiences

I have not used either before. I ran the sled stock last year so don't really know what baseline numbers for egt's are. But like I said I have purchased the A/F guage and that is what I was only going to run, just didn't want to spend the other $400 or so for egt's if I didn't need to. Thanks for your help
