Hello there , 02 mnt cat 800 rider from norway (way up norh)
First of all, does anyone know of a used boss seat?

Next...how much can u do to an old sled if u want to increase hp without ending life to soon, if u know what i mean....

I was looking for used Boss seat at one point and found it almost impossible to find one in like-new condition. The prices were too high on the used seats that I could find. Boss just released a new model this year and it was only $359 new. Great seat so far.

As for good mods... I'd say exhaust mods are the best route for gains and weight loss. I've been looking into a regulated nitrous system for a few seasons now (turbo is too expensive), but they are still around $1100 for a good one. Nitrous does not dramatically alter the life of your motor if you do regular service and use the nitrous as it is intended.

Open your stock reed cages, They are at 8MM and can go to 11MM on the "04 and newer ones. Just check the opening that they slide into to see if this is achievable? Otherwise just make sure that the engine receives a healthy dose of air. the exhaust is the other part. And no it won't reduce the life if you don't spin it too fast, 76-7800 should be what you are looking for.

check out the best mods for the 1M thread...a few mods that will change it the most is a front mount steering post, and high compression heads paired with a good aftermarket exhaust. Also look into pickin up a powerclaw track.

Tanks...just ordered thenew Boss seat for the 1m series...and I understand there is some extra work to install it on the 01 and 02 model....

that is correct. On the 01's and most of the 02's, the seat and tank were all one unit. If you don't care about the factory seat you can cut it away from the tank. You can also look for a used 1M clear tank. They can be found for $50 if you look hard.
