9R 165 x 2.75 Pro or Khaos ??

if you want to climb the rmk climbs better and stays on top of the snow ,if you want to wheelie and do reentries etc. get the
kaos

If you’re a 3%er, then it’s a Pro.
If you’re a 97%er, then it’s a Khaos.

Either sled will need the other sleds limiter. The in-between of these two sleds is money. Especially on the 9r.

I do agree with Jay about the Khaos shocks. More adjustability and they work better. Installed on a Pro 165 9r is magical with a Khaos limiter.

In the 165 length is there alot of difference between the Pro and the Khaos
On the boost there is. Haven't rode a pro on a na.[

Khaos

The biggest differences are lighter steering and more adjustability.

That nails a bunch of it.
All i know is if you can't ride a kaos 165 up a hill or through the trees, you have issues that throwing money at isn't going to help unless it's riding lessons.

I will say watching Burandt on a 165 Khaos the first day was comical. He was stuck all day and was like why did I ride that garbage sled at the end of the day. I even got a GoPro shot of me flying by his ass why he was rolling his Khaos over getting unstuck. If you know how to ride and set the Pro up right it can be as playful as it needs to be.

Several both matryx khaos and pros in our group. There is a little difference between them in 165, much more in 155. If bow ties and skis 4 feet in the air is your thing khaos 155. Everyone in our group on a 165 khaos is disappointed in the lack of playfulness. To be fair they are all 850’s. No 9R’s.

how about the same questions, but with a Boost?
165 or 155?
pro or khaos?
start with a khaos, tame it down with a pro limiter strap if needed?

I own a Khaos 9r 165… it’s not playful or light in the skis at all. I would say it is actually more planted than my Pro Boost 163 3”. It climbs and holds an edge just like you would expect from any newer sled with Polaris DNA (axys/matryx).

When discussing the handling/ playfulness of your particular setup it would be helpful to list your clicker positions and spring preload.

I've noticed a bunch of both Pro and Khaos sleds being delivered with FTS springs all the way loose--- no preload. That will make the sled feel front end heavy.

I always recommend the Khaos-- it's easy/free to calm down a Khaos. Getting a Pro to feel more rowdy requires parts ($$$)

I helped my buddy adjust the suspension on his recently acquired 2023 9R 155" with a 2.75 tack, that had 350 miles on it. He had ridden it once before the adjustments and said that it was more difficult to ride than his 2020 Khaos 850 155 3" after he rode it one time and said that he wanted it to be more playful. We adjusted the Velocity shocks preload spring for his weight (160-220 LB) and then rode it last Friday. It made a huge difference according to him, however it did not have as much front end lift as the 2020, but rode much better than before.
I believe the 3" paddles on the 2020 Khaos gives more lift than the 2023 9R with a 2.75" lug, plus the lower center of gravity comes into effect also. The 3" trenches more, while the 2.75" propels the machine forward more. We may tweak the suspension more if he requires more lift, but when I rode his 9R it was MONEY! I was able to carve like crazy in and out of the trees and perform tight circles on sidehills with ease. I loved the low end snappy power as well. Now it just needs some clutching work and a can.

My experience with all 4 setups is similar to this. The diff between the two on a 165 is pretty small. A 165 khaos can not really be described as “playful”, it’s just a little less front heavy than the Pro. The 155 is a different story. Difference is much more noticeable, but nothing crazy.

My 2021 khaos 155 wheelied bad with the 2.6. I put a camso x3 on it and it actually wheelied less and i believe because it pushed forward more, im not sure. But i definitely prefer the 155 over 165.

Khaos for the win! I climb just as good if not better than the pros. And my front end feel lighter (less tired at the end of day) Making shock adjustments is key to your riding style. I love my 22 165 2.75 khaos 850.

My only wish for my 165 Khaos is that it rode a little softer on the chatter bumps. It is getting better with miles on it but would the Pros with Velocities rode smoother?? One thing for sure is the Khaos is super sensitive to shock adjustments and maybe I have just not quite dialed it in for what I am lloking for. Big bumps are no issue.

The khaos has velocities with more adjustability, just turn your low speed clicker softer for trail riding.
