I'd highly recomend to go with Ted on this one. I do think It's the best.

The Devil's in the details. Clearances. shims, heads with propper squish, valves, etc. BUT, it just might be the best NA motor out there. NEVER go with forged pistons, when you can get this much from a dependable set up.
Get the new recoil kit from Ted also. It makes the whole thing a pull and go and kick azz.
Ted have you done any with Jaws D-pipes and porting?

Do any of you guys run nitrous on these m1000 pistoned motors? Heard some stuff that they don't like nitrous. Is there any truth to this?

why are you all against forged pistons? once you warm the engine up there shouldn't be a expansion problem causing stickage. i thought that forged pistons were better for performance than cast pistons. handling more heat and stronger. what is up?

Maybe theoretically they are better. Have seen too many instances of them going wrong (try 16 pistons in 4 motors in 1 year) and not being tuning issues any of them. Didn't burn down or seize, the locating pins for the rings fell out, the rings turned and chewed up the exhaust ports.

If you do this big bore will the stock efi set-up work or do you need to run an after market box like a boondocker? How about the stock pipe? Are they reliable?

I did not mic. my pistons, but I was told by.......

someone who should know that Suzuki has a way of making their pistons with an off round shape, smaller in the hot spots. They also have slightly smaller domes than skirts, as the domes will swell. Forged ones are not made this way. Anyway as in the above post, it's hard not to stick Wiescos. If you have them take a long time to warm up your engine.

Owen..........PS. Mine is now making power. I took an extra season, but I do believe I'm making over 200 ponies now. In just under three weeks I'll be racing Hill Drags and I hope to do well, We'll see.
