97' XCR 600 Water Pump?

Hey guys.

I got a buddy with a 97' XCR with a bad water pump. Does anyone know if a rebuild kit is available for these? If so where could I find one for a decent price? I seen a couple on e-bay for $200 or so, seems a little high to me. Just need the parts to rebuild it.

Thanks.

a new one is around 250.00 try to find a good used one put a add in WTB in parts..

does he need a fresh motor? id part with mine. motor has fresh rebuilt crank with about 2 miles maby trying to test that single pipe setup. fresh top also. pipes electrics carbs a single pipe i tried. all 4 550 my pump looked good

id look for a low-mile pump from a salvage yard, my 96 xcr pump went out last year, a new pump priced out at $489.00 i foud a good used one at a yard for $75, i've never seen rebuild kits!

Josh, He's not in need of a motor. Has just a hair over 3k miles on it. Thanks though.

Dan, I've never heard of a snowmobile salvage yard. Where would a guy find one of them at?

Thanks for all the replies/info. Much appreciated.

You can buy all the parts to rebuild it from Polaris... if it's the one that lubs off the crank case. If it's the one with it's own resevoir some of the parts are discontinued through Polaris.

Yea, it's the type of pump that hooks up with the crank. I called the local Polaris dealer to see if they have a rebuild kit. They do have all the parts on hand to rebuild it for the tune of $273. Ouch, didn't know a few plastic pieces would cost so damn much.
