97 Polaris Riser Question- Help!

I have an 1997 Polaris RMK 700... I currently have a 2" riser block on it. It helped me a lot last season and i would like to get a 4 or 5". The question that I have is if i should get a higher riser block or go to the pivot riser... I have heard that the pivot riser moves your body forward and helps the center of gravity. Any input would help. Thank you!

I put a 7 inch pivot risor on my 97. But before I did that I took a solid shaft of iron that just fit down the center of the steering post and heated it up till it was orange and drove it in the steering post till it stoped. I havent had any trouble with the post bending at all. If you reroute the brake hose there is plenty of lenght but you will need a throttle extension.

POS Pol what adapter did you buy to put on the flat steering post to get the pivot riser on it?

i did the same thing on my xcr wedge, i think it was a 12mm steel rod that i got from grainger for like $10, i welded a washer on one end and just tapped it down into the steering shaft, made my bars feel alot more ridgid! im gunna pull my motor to replace the bottom steering shaft mount when i do im gunna drill a hole in my steering shaft and spot weld the insert so it wont ever rattle loose!

I just bought a riser from a guy off of here. Its a double pivoting 5" and i think it will give me what i want. Do i need throttle and brake cable extensions?

The brake cable will still work just reroute it. I didnt have to buy a longer one for mine when I put a 7in riser on it.
