i agree summit boy this **** is a big crock. how can so many people believe in something that happend thousands of years ago. no proof. one example my wifes brother started going to this church a couple years ago and the crazy ****ers don't believe in birth control. weel geuss what she will be having there 4th this fall another one for the county to feed. we took our kids there for a haloween kids party with there cousin all i can say wierd ****ing people. my wife is a nurse and they don't believe in birth control either because it's a catholic hospital. so her insurane don't cover birth control. i went to a catholic funeral not long ago. whats with all that voodoo **** that they do some crazy people out there

yes i disagree. religion is not the root cause. so what your saying is, if it were possible, if we(humans) could vanquish all 'religious' beliefs 'major conflicts' would cease and desist? anybody that looks fairly at that question would have to conclude a BIG NEGATORY! its never going to happen. why??? because the root cause of any and all conflicts is MAN not religion! 'religion' is the scapegoat from the real problem. man will corrupt any and all things he sets his mind on... period.... that would encompass religion. but you see religion is a very easy target... we can point the finger at religion and say 'thats the evil culprit!'... without ever looking in the mirror.

(sidenote)
somebody posted, in this thread i believe, that a person can be moral without being religious...that is just incongruous. if a person is moral he is adopting religious tenants. religion and morals are not mutually exclusive.

it has been done and its fruits are deplorable... any communist country does just that, ie, no 'indoctrinating them with delusions of god' as you stated. the fact is they(children) are indoctrinated with the antithesis.

I sort of see your point about man being the problem. I believe man invented religion. I think mans delusion/religion is why there is so much hatred in the world. I believe we don't need any religion to live in this world, and to be good/moral to my friends/non friends. I for one cannot believe all the different types of religion that come to my doorstep/internet and preach to me that theirs is the only and right one and that i will perish in eternal fire ! That my friend is poor ! The good books always did preach murder, rape and fear !

i apologize if my candor came across as yelling... not yelling at all.

i believe religion is just the fire that brings the dross to the top. man is capable of hate without any semblance of religion... at least organized religion.
