There have been MANY reputable, independent TV shows, books and U-TUBE vids that have proven the whacko conspiracy theories wrong. Everything that happened to the towers and pentagon unfolded on live TV....pretty tough to fake that I would think.
Have you ever been to the trade center? Have you been in the buildings? It's like a busy city. I somehow think the 24 hour flow of people in/out of the building would have somehow noticed the massive amounts of construction, prep work, drilling and tons of explosives that would have been required. Not to mention the massive amount of people that would have been necessary....and yet none of them have come forward? maybe they were all suicide imploders?
And it was a plane that hit the pentagon, not a missile.....I helped build that very plane and many parts were found and identified.

In your mind, does steel need to melt in order for it to lose strength?

The way the towers fell, straight down, was due to their engineering and architecture, not because of thousands of strategically placed demolition charges. They were never designed to withstand the impact of a fully loaded jumbo jet and the intense heat of thousands of gallons of burning fuel. It is not reasonable or practical to try an engineer a skyscraper to withstand those kinds of forces.

The WTC towers had a steel girder exoskelleton and the floors were solid platforms suspended from the inside of the outer walls, kind of the way shelves inside a kitchen cabinet rest on support pins.
-The fire superheated the steel and it lost it's temper
-Superheated steel is weak and it failed
-The weight of the building above the failure was sufficient to cause a dominoe effect....straight down.

From a military standpoint 911 was classic Sun Tzu...Use your enemy's weakness against him.

911 happened because airport security was weak and PREDICTABLE
The terrorists exploited that predictablity AND they used the passengers willingness to cooperate because over the years terrorists used hijackings to free political prisoners. No one had the expectation that the 911 hijackers were any different.

CHABA, in all seriousness, conspiracy theories are born of a basic distrust of government, and entirely dependent on the myth that government is hyper-competent. Now having a distrust of one's government is healthy to a certain degree however, we must remind ourselves why we distrust our government in the first place....because government keeps screwing things up.

From Reconstruction and Jim Crow to the Stock Market Crash of 1929 and the Great Depression all the way to Katrina and the current financial mess, most of our great national tragedies were caused by government failures. Do you really believe that a government that couldn't effectively coordinate a disaster relief effort could pull of a job as complex and entirely dependent on absolute secrecy as 911?? Are you serious?

Governments are created by men and men are imperfect. It gets no more complicated than that.

Sorry man, I saw that movie and "Zeitguest" or however it is spelled. 911 WAS NOT an "inside" job. There was actually a rebuttal to the theory about 911 being an inside job recently on TV that was fair and balanced and heard from both sides. Wish I could remember which station it was on. That stuff is a bunch of crap...and I wrote my senior thesis on MLK's assasination....there was more to it than meets the eye for sure...but 911? A tragedy.

The one thing I will say about Zeitguest was that it made a very good point regarding religion.
