850 Oil line came off. Thoughts...

I mean, in all reality, a down sled is a down sled. So why make this only about motors? If it's covered under warranty then the price of the motor means nothing. The price of missing a weekend means everything. SO then you factor in all the other issues that other manufacturers have had, such as blowing belts, breaking bulkheads, snapping tunnels, snapping rails(mono or twin)

AND THEN, we should start a new thread to just really tear everybody apart so that in the end nobody likes any sled and we all hate each other!!

which oil connection

Does anyone have a description of the location(s) of the oil line defect, or any photos? This would help the rest of us check our sleds, and maybe avert disaster. It may not be an engineering or design issue. After all, it is only an oil hose clamp. It could always fall back on "worker error" when assembling. Thanks for any input.

My dealer who has torn down my motor told me this about the oil line issue.... The reason for the oil line popping off is due to the check valve in the case getting clogged. Once it's clogged the pressure builds up and blows the oil line off. The clog is due to too much sealant being used when the water pump assemble is attached. Over time the extra sealant inside the case is breaking down into tiny pieces and can clog the check valve. Now, please go easy on me as I'm not a mechanic, so I may have some of my terms incorrect, but more or less that's what they have determined on my sled, and 3 others. They feel most 850's should not see this as it was a manufacturing / assembly issue and not all of them had the excessive sealant spew out.

This is how I found mine before I pushed the clamp higher.
