800 PRO DYNO HP

I thought pro was 143 hp. Dyno port says stock 2011 800 rmk 152hp at 8100 rmp with 100+ foot pounds of torque. That with a heat soaked motor at 100-110 degree water temp. Article is in SNOW TECK mag. Sounds pretty good to me if ponys are getting to the snow.

Whatever it puts out, it gets to the ground!!! My 163 goes where my 09 163 d8 wouldn't dream of! In a drag race on a lake with little snow on top, it's dead even with a 160 hp 2010 M8. The arctic flat ran away from the 09 last year. I am very impressed with how it stays on top of the snow. And I had thought these 5.1 series tracks were junk! Loving it now.

I was also thinking the 5.1 tracks could be vastly improved upon from the change with my 08 Dragon. Now I am not sure. Thought about putting the challanger from my Dragon on the Pro but the way the sled has been running I am inclined to not touch it. If the surface is hard yes the track spins like on an ice block but if there is some powder it just seems to pull well. Do not remember my dragon pulling like that in the powder most of the time. Like the challanger but concerned about the parasitic drag and do not want to do the drop and roll if it changes the way it gets up on the snow...

Probably with zero corn juice fuel! Add corn juice and you have to run the other module and hp drops to the 140's. That would be my guess.

152 sounds like mine feels. My bro-in-law's 08 D7 would pull my 08 D8 last year. This year he's getting worked every race! Hill climbs aren't even close. I love the power with the new PRO!

What's your "guess" based on? I was going to put my non-ethanol plug in (even with ethanol fuel) to see how the engine runs. Truth is, this sled hasn't had any problems going where I've pointed it. I had "ideas" for mods and I don't think it will change much now.

I like this "guinea pig" testing everyone said I was doing by buying this sled.

Plan on trying the same. Sled runs rich above 7,000 feet anyway. Anyone else notice this? Just not as crisp at altitude.

Have FUN!

Run mine with non- ethanol fuel and the non-ethanol plug on Sat, then switched back to ethanol fuel and plug on Sun, could tell a difference, had more snap with non-ethanol fuel, did not have good snow to do much climbing,(hard pack)
but on the trail could tell a difference.

Any detonation or other problems?

Did not notice any kind of problem at all, started in the snow park around 2500 ft, did most of the riding around 5 to 6000 ft temps in the 20's run strong all day. Have about 200 mile's on the sled.

I'm very impressed that you pulled that off at that low of an elevation. I should be getting more fuel from the ECM at 9-11K. I guess I'll have to try!

On Sunday..

I switched my plug to NON Ethonal plug..

It is a little snappier!!

Just makes it crisper!

Is what i thought..

Maybe felt a little hader pull! 5 hp on seat dyno lol..

Most of the hp number that Polaris delivered back in March and since then are with the non-ethonal resister installed. Everyone is knocking the sled hp because you should use the ethonal resister since 99% of all fuel has atleast 10% corn juice. That resister adds more fuel and actually runs the motor a little fat if you are running non-ethonal fuel. That causes a loss in hp. About 5 to 10 hp from what I have read. All I am saying is that most magazine and such are going to test the sleds with zero corn juice fuel and get those 150+ hp numbers. Real world guys like us could possibly have some major issues by running the normal 10% corn juice fuel and the non-ethonal resistor. I would guess that we would probably burn down. Is there any safety protocol's in the software to prevent that from happening?

Just want to make it clear that I had NON-ETHANOL FUEL when I changed the plug and on the next day put 8 gal of ETHANOL FUEL in and changed the plug back to the ethanol plug, sled did run stronger with the non-ethanol fuel and plug.

Were you using non ethanol or E90?

today is the first day I ran non ethenol gas and changed the resistor, this machine woke up. I typically ride Mt Baker, there was about 2 feet of medium Pow and who knows what was under that. I know this machine can out climb and out preform others period, now add the extra HP from the fuel change. I could side hill forever and turn straight up from a side climb and high mark above all others. Maybe that I could see farther, ( almost sunshine ) please note this machine can make a medium level rider look like a star, I am that mid level rider.

Love the new pro and E-tec

Went for a ride yeterday, 2 or 3 feet of fresh. I rode my buddy's Pro, and wow what a difference in handling. Another buddy is riding a new e-tec Doo. Both new sleds run strong! I'll be getting a Pro or Assault for 2012! They run awesome!!!

We can not get non ethnol here in the northeast. I should not say that but it is really hard to find and generally 87 octance. There are a couple of stations in Albany NY that sell. Wish this ethnol **** was not in our gas.

The non-ethanol mode pulls 5% fuel and advances the ignition 1 degree. Or so I've been told. I don't understand why this wouldn't work with ethanol premium fuel. Isn't the ethanol mode for regular ethanol fuel?
