800 motor issues?

I just swapped up from a 2010 Dragon to a 2011 Pro, Dragon only had about 500 km and had no mechanical problems. The Pro had about 1100 on it. (After getting the sled home found the tunnel was cracked on both sides, brought it back and they are replacing the tunnel) About a week later I went back to the dealership and the Dragon was gone, someone obviously is not too worried about the 800 engine.

I rode an 11 pro 155 from Jan to July and put just under 1400 miles on it. It ran strong right from the start. I sold it to a riding buddy of mine and I'm not worried about that sled going down one bit and ruining a ride. I snow checked a 12 Assault and rode it for 19.3 miles yesterday, they run better then the 11's and I am excited for another year on a Polaris 800.

Like Bugito said above, the only place they are worthless is on Snowest, everywhere else they rule the backcountry. :D

I in no way believe that polaris has a motor problem, I just put that laundry list together to prove that all mfg's have motors that come apart. Sometimes it's user error, sometimes it's wear and tear, and sometimes something just goes wrong.
My incident involved a low oil resivoir, and climbing. The oil level was below the add mark. I reasoned that since the pro burns so little oil I will be O.K. Point it up hill and the oil runs the the back of the tank which created an air bubble.
Dumb@$$ move, right?
I wouldn't be on another one if I thought there was a problem.:becky:
