800 axys pro bog

TPS readjustment last night.

Starting numbers.
Voltage 5.02 VDC
Idle Base .937 VDC
Base .688 VDC This was set at .697 VDC last spring one ride later.
WOT voltage 4.25 VDC

Readjustment numbers

Voltage 5.02 VDC
Idle Base .953 VDC set it a little higher.
Base .702 VDC

WOT 4.25 VDC

This will be the 3rd time for me doing this along with one dealer adjust of idle only with DW. If this doesn't take care of it I'll be at a loss of what to do. Adjusted my throttle cable to spec per service manual and procedure. Wiring looked good the only thing I did find was the wiring for the TPS that is routed over the throttle body's with a zip tie was SUPER tight pinching tight. Not sure if that was factory or not. Installed new tie not as tight. May mean nothing. I was in that far and adjusted it. Checked PV cable not broken and is within spec per service manual and moves freely. Will just have to go ride it.

Just a thought, have you gents checked your plug wires and caps? The caps are very hard to seat on the plugs. Tug on the wires to see if they unseat from the caps. If they do, trim them back to good wire and screw them back on. Blow out the caps and inspect the internal cap for erosion.

Yes, I have mine are tight. Looked in them with a light also. I didn’t unscrew off the cable and reseat. The caps do fit tight and you can hear them click, pop a little when seated.

Tugged on the plug wires last night all good. That was a good idea Thanks.
I’m going to try to keep posting on this thread til I solve this issue. Planning on riding this weekend. Readjustment test. Either I’ll figure it out or replace the Throttle bodies or to the sale barn with it.

Have you looked at your reeds?

I looked at them the other night when adjusting the TPS. Just used my light and looked in nothing looked bad. Couldn’t see any light shine through. None were missing.

So.. My numbers did make it worse? Better?.. No difference.
I stated I did have to do 3 different setting to get mine correct - but none were set in stone when trying it on other that were a bit out of sync..

I haven’t tried it yet. I have also put 3 different sets of numbers including this set. One set I got off another thread. I will be trying it this weekend. It idles fine here at the house. It was idling at 1750-1800 here. When I loaded it last Saturday night it idling was at 1550-1600. I’m not doubting anyone’s numbers or anything like that. I’m just super frustrated with this whole deal. I may need to just put a zipper on it so I can go in out of at Will. HaHa.

Was able to get out today. Sled started fine on the trailer idled at 1700-1800 for about 1 min engine cold, stalled restarted warmed up with a little throttle no change in idle. After a few mins idled changed back down to 1400-1350, by the end of the day the gauge would flicker on and off idling so low 1400-1300-1250. Bog at 4600-5000 is still there not put you over the bars anymore, however it is a major pain to ride like it is.
Current settings are below. Someone has got to have this figured out without adjusting and adjusting. Has anyone replaced a TPS? or a set of throttle bodies because of this? What happened after? There is a bunch of threads on this and we adjust and adjust than what happens did it fix it?
I have tried spot on some other numbers and so on. The current settings seem to help not sure which way to go?

I always found out in all the Axys I have set, that not many liked the base above .700. as to why mine were .691 (or I used that as a starting figure)

If you have the time I would look at the reeds closely again to rule them out-
Yeah, it's a PITA - but so is a non performing sled- cause I bet them Phillip
head screws are getting a bit worse for wear on the TPS cup by now....

Switched them out first thing to Allen’s. I’m going to go back in. Check the reeds and adjust to those settings you put up. Hoping this will sort it out. It’s not moving on me I marked it, acts like it loses its settings not sure. I know it’s different when I check it before adjustment, from what I had before. It changes some on the base. Like in the above post. Thanks
