726 carbs???

726 carbs??? and pipes??

im wondering what other carbs will work with this motor, it is the race motor, race heads, runs 110. im running tm 38s on it now. motor is in the IQ chassis. any suggestions will be appreaciated. Thanks also does anyone know if the 726 pipes are the same as the 797 pipes for the IQ chassis???

Should be able to use jetted down 800 carbs and be fine. I'm pretty sure the 726 used rack style carbs.

i bought it with the tm 38s and i kno my buddys 797 used racked carbs. also another question i got is if the 726 factory IQ pipes are the same as the 797s pipes?

726 pipes were probably the same as 797's with the exception of a reducer. You can put a lil bit bigger pipe on a smaller motor but not the other way around.

I'll call the race shop tomorrow and get a definate answer on the pipes. The 726 is built from a 600 bottom end which makes it a small block so you might be able to get away with slightly if not at all modded 600 race pipes, I know they're close to the same size as a 726 pipe.

the reason im asking about the pipes is i plan to purchase or use a buddy of mines 797 motor and dont really wanna have to get a different set of pipes but if need be i will, which is based off the same 600 small block bottom end. also i noticed that my 726 pipes look identical to some of the 600 mod pipes i have seen.

your 797 will not work with the 726 pipes. If it is a modded slp 797 then you will need to find a set of 800 big block slp race pipes for the iq. there is a set on ebay right now. if you dont have a set of the big volume pipe on a slp ported 797 you will have alot of problems.
