700 turbo worth it? advice please

Hey, so i got a 08 700 rmk dragon on a 155. I got a few questions that are putting me on the fence and all advice would be greatly appreciated!

1. obviously my stock skid wont hold up, but can i run a close to a stock length aftermarket skid or is longer better?

2. with a longer skid ill need a tunnel extension for sure, or is it worth my while to get a whole new longer tunnel?

would pump gas vs race fuel affect the outcome for either of the previous questions?

thnx!

I had a 700 race gas dragon that was the most fun sled I've ever owned! Track/Skid length is a matter of personal preference. Mine was a 155 on a timbersled skid, my new one is a turbo Pro, also with a 155 skid. I personally don't like the longer tracks, as I ride trees and like to be in the air. its all about how you like to ride, but I feel a 155 handles the power just fine. I ran at 13PSI all year last year and had no problem outclimbing just about everyone I rode with.

Totally stock 08 700 155 except the turbo. Ride 10-12 psi. It works fine for me but have never tried anything else. So if you're asking if it'll work with the stock suspension the answer is yes.

totaly worth it. My 700 race turb on 13lbs has made everyone on the hill cry. Cant believe how it pulls. 155 track and full timbersled susp. track speed is key and a 155 is the best all around track if you ask me.

Same here. Had two of them. an 07 and an 08 now I have a pro. the pro has better bottom end but reaaly with top end power it is only a difference of a couple of pounds boost. I ran my rg 700's at 10-12lbs at 2000 ft. no issues.

wait for a couple mroe weeks Ill get mine from full lotus and let yuo know how that works :face-icon-small-win

95, Ive seen a couple threads on clutching and gearing but not much on the 700. I was thinking of going the same way I went with the td8 (for low elevation) : primary spring in the 185-265 range, with 68g ish, stock sec.spring with straight 50 helix which I believe should be used with the 700 on the sr 48 to keep my rpm a notch higher. Also I was geared up one tooth on the td8 but Ill give it a try stock for now as that may help on the bottom end.

Does that sound right?

Any suggestions?

Now back to topic lol I will honestly let know you how it works when I get the machine here!:face-icon-small-coo

nooop I haven't received the sled yet:face-icon-small-con.

That's what I was suppose to put in my td8 until I changed my mind and sold the kit because of the reliability of the d8.

Justin SIlber orange spring that comes with the turbo kit is a 165/310 if I remember well but the problem I had was no bottom end at all and keep the rpm down. Instead of putting 80g wieights I decided to take a softer spring but that would engage at higher rpm to help with the bottom end bog. I never ended up finding the spring I was looking for at the time which was 185-265 but found a 170-280 I think not too sure only rode it once and then lost it while playing around with my clutch parts (stupid thing, forgot it on the handle of the sled which was in my truck, left it there while driving...) it was a artic cat sno pro440 2004 primary spring if I remember well.

Epi is doing one quite close to that tension.

What's your primary spring?

The 155 with a stock skid on the 2007 turbo 700 is great. The thing is an absolute blast. We had a 163 on a turboed cat and it was good but the 155 has amazing track speed, it doesn't trench at all, it is great in the tree's. If you have it setup right, on big climbs you only have to let a bit off the throttle and you won't go over backwards. All in all the best sled we have had yet.
Francois will tell you all about it when he gets it.

Hopefully the pro will be as much fun!

Thanks

and hopefully once you put all that time an effort into it you sell it to me for a good price once again haha!:face-icon-small-win

I have a pink erp spirng that is 180/300 I think and a 165/270 that I use but I don't remember what it spring it was.

you might want to try stiffer springs in the sec. with the str 50 you need a little more tension to keep slippage and heat down. 160-280 or 180-280.

i found stock sec spring too soft.
