700 Rmk - Thump?

Maybe it's just my brain playing games with me, but I swear my 09 700 makes a "thump" noise when I'm driving 25-30 miles an hour. I have no idea where it's coming from, and it seems to go away when I speed up. Sounds like it's coming from under the hood.

Any thoughts?

What kind of conditions were you driving in when you heard the thumping? Could it have been the limiter strap in the rear suspension slaping when the suspension was cycling up and down? If you were riding in whooped up moguls on a rough trail I could see the rear suspension rocking back and forth causing the limiter strap to slap tight/release/slap tight/etc.

I guess I did only hear it when I was riding on a rougher surface. On a field that the wind blew all of the snow off of.

I'll have to ride it in the morning and see what I can here in the powdery snow.

I haven't had time to ride it, because when I tried starting it in the morning, the recoil cord snapped. F me! Have to pick up some new rope and get the sled back together tonight.
