660 kit on 08 rmk

I had the 685, same basic kit has the 660 and it gave me 5 years of reliable fun. The 660 in awesome, like it has been said..... No down side to it at all.

over 5000 trouble free miles on my wifes 02 rmk Built but Hot To Go Racing and my full mod 660 has 6 race seasons as a watercross machine w/ 0 issues. Larry Rugland built .Dyno sheets says 169 hp. Both engines are 2001 models

The only one I have had any dealings with is from Carl's and as stated on every post there is no down side to this motor. It flat out runs, and runs most other sleds into the ground. Go for it, you will smile for miles...

If you like the 600 you will love the 660. I have one in a 07 rmk 155. Best money I ever spent on a mod.

I have a 685 and love the dang thing. I originally bought it as a back up but found myself riding it more and more. Only problem I had was with the bigger bore I did break a cylinder skirt last season but I rebuilt it right back like it was.
Only real complaint it pulls hard but just cant pull with a good 800 but dang close!

Greetings Rotalaris,

What elevation was the 660 dynoed at?

Are you pushing race gas through your 660?

Thanks in advance.

Craig.

Awsome package, make sure you go with the Carls kit and get the cases clearanced. Do the full package(bored carbs, vforce reeds, slp pipe/can, venting). Mine has no problem pullin a 155 challenger extreme 2.5"

Craig that is a low alt racing setup. Remember peeps most of the 660-685 kits are referred to as improved. Means you run a stock cylinder that has been bored to except the 700cc stock size piston. It also means you get someone's porting design, coordinated with spark, and normally some kind of a custom head setup with compression depending on what alt your looking for and what type of fuel you want to use. Most of the various kits on the market will build a single pipe pump gas 134hp-140ish hp depending on who is controlling the dyno setup.

169 is a twin pipe race gas version with high compression on a full race port setup...and is about the ceiling of what you can produce with a twin cyl 600 to 700 cc two stroke naturally aspirated engine.

All the kits seen to be for the carb jobs, anyone know about a cfi kit, who makes it and what kind hp numbers.

Carl's in Boise Idaho 208-853-5550 (Chris in Performance) has running high performance CFI setups for the Polaris 600 to 660. They've even put one in a PRO chassis that ran great and handled BETTER.

You cannot go wrong with Carl's for a mtn setup big bore kit on a Polaris. They've been doing them a long long time and are universally an excellent product with extensive testing and professional support.

^^^ x2

I had Carls build a 660 kit for my 2012 RMK 600. Also had their kit on my '07 RMK as well and it's the best pull-n-go mod I've done on my sleds.

I should be getting the top end from Carls tomorrow in the mail :D Now we just need snow.
