600 HP numbers??

Nope the "new' 6 version is reportedly 133-138. Do a search there are several on-line reviews. From what I have read it is a 2 injector as well as internal changes. Tester claims it felt every bit as strong as a 700 dragon...fwiw

not that I dont beleive you, but can you share these online reviews w us?
Everything I have read is stating between 125-130 or so
I would love to hear closer to 133-138, but im just not sure

thanks! :face-icon-small-coo

I have owned three 600 over the years!!! 2002, 2005 and currently have
2010. Out of those three the strongest running one was the 02 with the cfi 2010 feeling the weakest!!! I spent a whole day last spring on a new 600 and it felt the same as my 2010!!!!I was told right from the polaris reps last year that it has know more hps then the previous years!!!

Sure, I don't know how to post a link but go to Snowmobile.com and find the 2012 Polaris 600 Pro-RMk 155 video/article. "well into the high 130 horsepower range" Also go look at the Polaris microfich and compare the differences with the flatland version Vrs this pro rmk 2012 version, many differences in the motor. The new motor config is only in the rmk , so prolly be in the flatland version next year.

HERE is that vid/link for those that care to read/watch it

HERE is the quote you spoke about:

"The fuel-injected motor, with factory-installed single exhaust pipe, is well into the high 130 horsepower range."

I just think those HP numbers are far fetched
and this coming from a guy who OWNS the 600 RMK too

some quotes i liked form the article:

"When we heard this at Polaris’ technical school, my hand shot up and I gritched, “You had a successful 700 motor…I don’t get it; where’s ‘my’ 700 RMK Pro?” I received a wink, a nod and a CEO-like answer from the RMK project team, “Just wait. Our 600 RMK Pro overachieves and makes the 700 RMK from 2010 feel old.”

"The RMK Pro 600 will, in our opinion, put some lost fun back into backcountry boondocking. Today’s 800 breeds, with their lightweight chassis and high horsepower motors, slap any mountain and knock it down with little effort. The 600, due to its smaller bore motor, will make us mountain guys earn the summit. I like that. I like the fact that with some skill, smarts, planning and scoping out a line; I can take a mountain with some country-boy geometry. More so, most mountain riders are 600 fellows anyway, but we mountain riders like big numbers (read, 800) because, well, we are guys. Yet, I believe those who jockey this 600, with some dedication, will keep up with the 800s. The 600 RMK Pro, by all intents-and-purposes, is not a less-than sled. "

IMO it's a combination of the new lighter more effecient chassis along with a cleaner smoother running mill. No reason to be believe it wouldn't be up in the 130's, previous 6's ran 125-128. The 6 has always been a snappy overachiever.

im on your side
I would LOVE if this thing had in the even mid to high 130's for HP!!!! :whoo:

my 2009 Nytro converted to an XTX claims 130HP and it was a TANK, and im sure over 100lbs heavier than this is
and i had a HOOT on that thing in the flatlands here (athough I only owned it for 2 months!! LOL!)

im am SUPER stoked to ride my new Pro Ride both here AND out west

looking forward to some reports on it. Im pushing the same iron for at least one more year. I have owned three different polaris 6's and really liked them. The quick spooling snappyness is great for trial riding. And being able to add a 660 kit to it would be a blast! Check out the microfich there are some pretty significant changes.

I'll be happy to hear about a 135 Hp 600 from poo, but seeing is believing.

We just spent the last year b!tch slapping polaris for their low 800Hp (all actual performance aside), and now they got 138 out of a 600??? That is 1 Hp lower than the lowest I heard on the 800 pro!

Number crunching:

600 with 138Hp = 230Hp/liter, quite good and its a single piped setup, or 1 pipe per 2 cylinders. Stock full throttle all day trim. Read up on the w/c thread to get perspective.

800 with 160Hp = 200Hp/liter, also quite good but this number a lot of us cry foul on...

Like stated, love to see a 130Hp+ 600, might trade down and get some minor mods.:face-icon-small-coo

Different 600's

So you guys know the 600 RMK has the same old 600cfi 120ish hp well proven motor. The 600 PRO-RMK has a NEW 600cfi 130+ hp unproven motor. so if you think that you are gonna get a regular RMK to keep up with the big boys you are mistaken, but the PRO-RMK I believe will be able to make a good run at it. for the 1000 diff between the 6 and 800 PRO's I think it is a no brainer. 800 all the way

this is the VERY first I have heard of this
I talked to 5 dealers when i bought mine and not one made mention of this
the "Pro" model is suppose to be a smaller version of the 800 Pro, w all the bells and whistles (listed below)
i chose to go the base route, as i plan to change all the "upgraded" things on the Pro for aftermarket, for a cheaper price
and i got the 144" track i wanted

THIS link shows a side by side comparison of the two

there are a few differences between the two sleds:

different running boards, steering post, shocks (front and rear), seat, winshield & bars
now i have heard that there is a RUSH model that is a bit of a reduced HP model, but all RMK models of the 600 should have the SAME "new" engine

unless of course you have a link to prove me wrong?????
any dealers on here care to step in and confirm this???

I stand corrected. According to parts fiche cylinders and ecu are the same. It is strange that you have dealers tellin u 120-125hp #'s and press releases telling you 130+. either way i'm still going the 800 route. don't want to end up falling short or to try and get my 600 to perform like an 800. gonna try to save money by buying what I want and not try to make something what I want it to be.

The heads are different part numbers though...

O.K. based off the Polaris parts breakdown the 2012 RMK 600 has different part numbers for the Block,Pot,Head, pistons and crank as well as 2 injector set-up.
The 2012 ProR 600 has the same part numbers as the 2011 ProR 600.

I have a call into our Rep to verify if there is a difference in 600
HP ratings from the Pro 600 and the base RMK

My sales guy is almost 100% sure they are the exact same motor tho

There was no Pro Ride 600 in 2011
Was still in the IQ chassy

This is the first year of the 600 engine in the Pro Ride chassy

There's a reason Polaris quit building the 700. And that reason is because they're getting more horsepower out of the new 600.

Hahahaha, Ya right. Maybe more than a 10 year old carbed 700. The new chassis is what makes the solid 600 a much better sled.
