Update
Sold the 2012 Cummins and bought a 2017 6.4 gas
5000 miles on it so far and I don't regret it. Towed a 28' trailer up the alcan from Montana to Alaska getting 8.5-9.5 mpg. My Cummins probally would have gotten 10 under the same conditions. The 6.4 is more fun to drive unhooked from the trailer and actually gets around the same mileage unhooked from the trailer. If I lived somewhere at elevation is probally stick with a diesel but I usually drive 0-3500'
