509 goggles

03rmking,

Hey dawg I was really hoping you had some more goggles now that Christmas is through....also I gotta get some of those tunes from First Ascent but I can't find anywhere to buy DownSumner "Identity" on the net let alone local (Northern CO)......Any help???? Thanks

Patrick

That'd odd. Were the hinges opening up, allowing the goggle to sit further back in the helmet? So there was an actual gab between the edge of the goggles on your face?

The shape of your face really does come into play. We've shipped tons and tons of these goggles and I can probably count on both hands the number of people who have given us feedback that the fit wasn't ideal. Seems there are a small percentage of people with certain helmet combo's that don't jive well with the 509's. Keep the feedback coming, and we'll roll out new features to make these work perfectly with as many people as possible.[/QUOTE]

Hey Tom, you know what's interesting is that I let my son wear my other pair of 509's and they seemed to fit him much better. He has a different helmet. He thought that they were the best goggles that he has used. Most people say that we look quite a bit alike (poor fugger!) and our facial "dimensions" would be quite similar. I checked the hinges and they seemed to be functioning properly. I'm going to be experimenting some more and will continiue with feedback. Yes, the outside edges allowed air in. We both agreed that a nose piece is a must, even with the breath deflector on the helmet.

I wear a Fly Lite too and love the fit, couldn't fit any better. Absolutely no gab on the top and the sides seal perfectly.

Maybe it's because I have a big head? I wear a XXL and there's about a 1/8" gap at the top of the goggles, if I push them up to seal it there's a gap above the cheek pads.

I'm having the same problem, especially with my breath deflector in the helmet. The footprint seems fine, but they dont' sit tight against my face around the edges. It seems like they should be just a little thicker/deeper, and the fit would be perfect. It's not as bad now that I've taken the breath deflector out and just gone with the balaclava. Other than that the optics are great, and no fog problems. Thanks for working so hard to make these googles the best.

If it helps my Oakleys leave gaps, too. I have a HJC CLX-4 XXL. Going to try my old Scotts to see if they are better. The gaps actually help prevent fogging when it's not extremely cold. And I have an UA balaclava and breath deflector.

Still waiting?

Hey I just waned to know if any of you had received your goggles or heard any thing lately? I ordered a pair 12 days ago and havn't gotten them yet. I like all the feed back I've heard and want to try them soon.

I found if you use QS's and adjust them loose so the frame doesnt get pulled stariaght they will fit my face. I love the wide side vision they give over other brands. sj

I got mine on Saturday aswell and I ordered them on December 26th. They look and feel great can't wait to use them.

Rode a bit with mine yesterday, 17 deg, very nice, no fog at all,and a really nice fit on my face. Had to trim the foam around the nose a little for perfect match. Ordered another pair for my wife, she liked them to. Hope they arrive soon.
I would suggest a way on the website that you could pick other shipping methods (ie next day air) if you need them asap.

Best goggles I have tried yet. It is great to have a product designed by someone that actually rides. Nice job Tom...can't wait to see the other gear you come out with.
