509 goggles

First ride with the new goggles was 3.5ft of fresh, snow blowin everywhere, foggy, lots of stucks, and can't complain. Chrome/orange is great in low light. overall pretty happy with them.

I guess I should buy a cheaper balaclava, my $20 Klim one is to much? I love your goggles and will definitly buy some more when the ones with larger foam come out, I am using an Arctic Cat helmet, and the huge Scotts fit perfect.

Try the T Max nylon super thin balaclava. Bought it from a local Yammi dealer for $4.95. It's available through WPS.

I just did a test , and interesting one. I have the 509s and the monster sized scotts. The 509s have WAY better peripheral vision. One prob.. on my kbc lid the strap hold the gog far enuff out that the foam doesnt touch my face at the sides.

Wore them for the first time last weekend. They fit perfectly in my Troy Lee helmet. No fog! Duner....I got some frostbite too on saturday....but, don't think it was from the goggles, it was from -12 degrees and 70 MPH down the trail! ;)

I rode with the 509s last weekend -- I have a ToBe helmet. My brother and daughter both have HJC helmets with Scott Turboflow goggles. They both complained about their faces getting cold around their goggles, I didn't have that problem.

I rock 509's with a quick strap on my Troy Lee, no complaints on fog or fit, just that the stock chrome lens is pretty damn dark for socked in blizzard conditions. Need to get a lighter lens for sure.

Try the chrome/clear lens. It's AWESOME. My lens of choice.

yes i'm really happy with the helmet. i bought it with the chin and breath deflectors. i think the 89xi's have about the same size frame .. but the voltage x's have foam that extends above and below the frame to help seal up better.
brnr 17 i have the scott xi89 turbos are mine the same size as yours.....also i have the scorpion exe snowcross helmet......i just got it..........havent used it yet .......u like yours

new fly light and 509s....not as good of a fit as the original fly light and oakleys. Good goggles for the price, but they don't fit well with my fly helmet and no fog breath deflector....I'll switch goggles before I go back to a balaclava.

Used the 509's again today, very flat light and poor visibility. The goggles optics are very, very good, the best that I have ever worn. Fogging was almost non existent, just a little, but very infrequent. The fit is not good. I cannot get them to seal on the outsides of the frame, both sides. It seems that they either need thicker foam or a bigger footprint. Had cold coming in the side edges all day, otherwise, they are great. I also had the strap down as tight as I could go and still be able to stretch it over the helmet. Clear chrome was a great lens today.

Edit PS - need a nose guard for sure to put on these

I wear a Fly Lite too and love the fit, couldn't fit any better. Absolutely no gab on the top and the sides seal perfectly.

That'd odd. Were the hinges opening up, allowing the goggle to sit further back in the helmet? So there was an actual gab between the edge of the goggles on your face?

The shape of your face really does come into play. We've shipped tons and tons of these goggles and I can probably count on both hands the number of people who have given us feedback that the fit wasn't ideal. Seems there are a small percentage of people with certain helmet combo's that don't jive well with the 509's. Keep the feedback coming, and we'll roll out new features to make these work perfectly with as many people as possible.

Rode with these goggles today. All I can say is awesome.
First goggle I've had that I could ride with all day with. Didn't have to do my usual switch and ended up lending my extra pair to a friend.
