509 aviator goggles suck

I got nearly 100 days with my Aviators...no problems except for one spring day. I over dressed for the warm storm that rolled thru and was sweating like a stuck pig. Which is the normal cause of any goggle issues (overheating).

Got my first scratch a couple weeks ago with a heavy branch thrashing line where I took a hard one to my grill. Saved my eyes though!

Great goggle with inexpensive lens replacements to cover different lighting conditions...backed up with top notch customer service.

Ive been using Aviators and a 509 helmet all season and it is by FAR the best combo I have ever used. I never suffer with fog, or poor seal, and I love the field of view. Nothing else compares

Danbot and the boys are invading Revy with their 900's eh? Should I call and reserve the choppers ahead of time for ya boys? ;) Have fun!

Love my 509s. Don't work as well in deep powder as some, but in most cases work really well. Work better with my thor helmet than my klim. Dave.:face-icon-small-coo

I have Oks and the 509 aviator. I think both are great, but the 509's are the best goggle I have every owned, and I have owned most of the others with smith being the biggest disappointment.

I usually have to wear contacts while riding, but I can get away without them if I wear my 509's.

anyone else have problems withe there 509s my first ride was horrible they were not clear at all and snow was hittting me in the eyes all day. are they supposed to be open around the edges? any help here would be good.

If snow is getting inside the goggle, they are not sealed against your face. Make sure you wear the strap tight to ensure a good seal. It also depends on the size/shape of your head as well as your helmet eyeport shpe. Everyone is different. There is no one goggle that works perfect for everybody. The Aviators and Sinister models are two entirely different fits. The Aviators have more curvature to the frame, which makes them a great fit for people with average or smaller size heads. Anyone with a wider face will have better luck with our Sinister model. The Sinister fits a wider range of face sizes. This is because there is not as much curvature to the frame and the extra foam conforms to a wider variety of head shapes as well as helmet openings.

Selecting a goggle that fits you well is everything. We stand behind our products completely, so if you are not having a good fit, we would be more than happy to let you test drive our other models to see what works best for you. As always, we are available at 1-877-743-3509 or support@509films.com.

Have the sinister with the chrome yellow tint lens. For me they are good on partly cloudy days and sunny. Low light they suck. For that I have orange tint Oakley's. Awesome in low light, but the Sinister fit the best to my face. The Oakley's not so much. I plan to buy another pair of 509's in the future.

The chrome/yellow lens is not a low light lens. Anytime you add a chrome finish, it will darken the lens a bit. Give our plain yellow or orange lenses a try and I'm confident you'll find they are every bit as good (or better) than the other brands, and at a lower cost. We keep our lens prices low, to allow people to have different lens options for different conditions.

Two petpeeves - Middle tab on the nose shield doesn't have a place to go.....so when I tuck the goggles into the helmet, sometimes the nose piece falls off, usually onyl when I'm not careful.

Reeb, there is a notch for the middle tab. If for whatever reason yours doesn't have one, let us know and we'll get you fixed up.

Tired of spending money on the new cool stuff that doesn't work, back to Old Lucky's. Oakley's are the only goggles that work. They've been selling goggles for a long time for a reason. When you spend $150 of course they work. but you're just foolin yourself.

Not to impressed with mine either

Just got my first pair of 509's this year. I love the look of them but other than that they don't really impress me at all. I got the Carbon Sinisters and yes they do look cool and i haven't had one bit of fogging which is awesome!!! But they make me cry if i go over about 30mph. They are super tight now i have played with the strap trying to make a difference and they are sealed to my face but i can feel the air moving through the goggles more than any other pair of googles i have ever had. I really like the look but i think it is time to go back to my trusted SPY's They always stayed clear and didn't make me cry :)

The only thing I need to figure out is how to keep the hard case from crushing the nose piece when I have it packed away.

I have had the Aviators since last year with no issues, and they are my favorite goggles. I use a ONE Industries helmet. Maybe it depends on the helmet?

Having problems with the foam on one of my few pairs of 509s so I got ahold of their warranty department and before my procrastinating @ss got them shipped off to get fixed, there's a new "loaner" pair sitting in my mailbox along with a prepaid postage sticker to send mine off. What other company out there does this? Props to you guys for being one of the very few out there that still TRULY takes care of their customers. Incredible. You guys should teach Boss Seats a thing or two about this.

Done deal. The old case has been discontinued and we have developed a new WIDER case, that not only fits the goggle perfectly, but also have pouches to hold 3 spare lenses. This will be out for next season.

I got my cases in Dec...any swapping going on? :)

I have had the 509 Aviators for 2 seasons now... from Bright California Bluebird days to deep Colorado over the hood blower pow to everything in between. Sledding, snowboarding, snowshoeing...

I have a eye-tearing problem and a sweaty head... no fogging problems.

I have 4 different lens' that I take very good care of for different light conditions and they change out easily.

I ride with a Med/Lg Troy Lee SE-2, Klim F4 and Ski Doo Snowcross helmet... they fit those well.

These are my "GO-TO" goggles and I have a Rubbermaid tub of everything from Oakley Crowbars, Scott 89Xi's, Smith, Spy, Dragon, Bolle, etc etc etc...

I got my first pair last season and have one more pair in my bag since as a back up. Worth the money in a BIG way to me!

The yellow in blizzard/flat light days... the chrome on the bluebirds with the others for the in between days.

Life is good... I'm glad I found some goggles that finally worked.
