4yr warranty having a 3,000 mile limit???

I stopped by the dealer in Centerville, Utah today for clarification. He said the 4-year warranty on 2013 snow checked sleds has the 3,000 mile max limit, 1 year coverage by Polaris and 3 years insured coverage.

Interesting... Can you get a copy of the actual warranty / fine print and post it in this thread?

The hour meter must be kept in the CPU. Chance the mileage is, too, regardless of gauge. It's all electronic. It's a great question, and easy to test on an unfogged sled.

For what it's worth... when I had my hood off the sled for some recent spring rides the miles were the same when I pluged the hood / gages back in. No new miles were logged on the dash gage from the miles riden without the hood.

Me bad, I went back and read where you asked the dealer for a copy.

No worries. I still have not found a copy of the warranty to look at the fine print.

Somebody has to have a copy of their warranty that they can post? Hello out there, could someone please post up a copy of their warranty :-) Thanks...

Guys, some people are overlooking the facts here. Lots of misinformation.
There is a difference between the first year Polaris backed (or in the 2011 case, which looks to be different?) and the Polaris Star extended warranty. I can totally see Polaris putting a limit on their one year bumper to bumper at 3000 miles. That limits the amount of rental machines they would be having to maintain. 3000 miles is do-able on a mountain sled in a year, but it is NOT the norm. I am guessing on what I just wrote by what I have read in the above posts.
Facts I know to be true:
1) I have yet to find a dealer who I have personally talked to, whoi has heard of a mileage limit, and they have all quoted cases where they had sleds with more than 3000 miles covered by warranty. (Under Polaris Star.)
2) The Polaris Star extended warranty that MY dealer is selling with the 2013 sleds has written in bold letters, that there is NO mileage limitation on the extended POLARIS STAR coverage.

Whether the FIRST year has a 3000 mile limit I have no idea, nor do I care a whole lot.

I heard that Arctic Cat is warrantying 2.5 belts per 1000 miles, based on first year use, and 1.36 belts per 750 miles on years thereafter.
See how long that takes to get reposted on forums. ;)

I'm not so sure. As I said, I dropped by a local dealer and he made it very clear there is a 3000 mile limit on the 4 year warranty. I actually snow checked my machine in Idaho, so I won't have a copy of the warranty until fall.

I did a ask Polaris ?

Is there a mileage limit on the 2011-2013 snowcheck 4 year warranty"

There is no mileage limit on the 4 year snow check warranty."

There is a 3000 mile limit on the second year when buying a new non snowcheck sled.

Get a new dealer.
They are either wrong, or selling an extended warranty that is NOT Polaris Star.
(Or my dealer is just special, selling a special warranty that nobody else can get.)
It is very clear to me, when I call my salesman and he reads the warranty to me, on the phone, after I ask, and says that it is written in BIG BOLD LETTERS, that there are no mileage limitations on this warranty.

Best post yet. Another variable, whether Snowchecked or not.

Found a copy of the 2 year powertrain warranty.

THANKS TRS...

Now we're getting somewhere on this 3,000 mile limit question. I think the 3rd bullet point from the first page of the 2yr warranty more or less answers it. The 2yr Polaris warranty option does have a 2 year / 3,000 mile limit to the warranty. Simmilar to your basic car warranty ie. 3 year / 36,000 mile bumper to bumper.

One question remains, which is what about seeing in writing that the 4yr snowcheck warranty does not have a limit on the miles.

Someone has to have a copy of the 4yr snowcheck extended warranty that they can post on here like TRS did with the 2 year warranty.

Now Now, I know where you live too ;-) Lets put this one to bed... call Guys and get a copy of that 4yr fine print that we can post up. I want to see the bold caps saying no limit on the miles...

Did you see in the 2yr warranty they mention that whole NADA value being factored in if you're warranty bills eclipse the current value of your sled. It would be a little hard to rack up $10k in warranty repairs over 2 years but.... who knows. I went through 3 full engines this year totaling about $14,000. Now 2 of those engines were on my dragon and one on my PRO, but still...
