3ft OF FRESH SNOW(STEAMBOAT SPRINGS NOV.24, 09

Were going to clark, colorado for christmas can we ride to buffalo pass from there?

2010 arctic cat LE Bikeman can, slp powder pro, and xxxmodrods

No, you would need to trailer for about 30-40 minutes from Clark to where you'd unload on the Steamboat side of Buffalo Pass.

Worth every friggin; inch of it though! I love Buffalo Pass.

Nov. 24 steamboat springs, buffalo pass. Incredible 3 ft. On top of a 42 inch base

So you are saying that there was roughly 78" of snow there?

Had to have been AWFULLY hot in two days to lose 44" of snow. Just sayin.

**Note** Bold blue is snow depth.

wow you got the data? On the north face of buffalo mountain you'll see a drainage called fish creek. I can give you the exact lat and long if you want it? Anyway, at the powerlines you have a huge open area that gets windblown down to nothing. Well the snow that is blown off of this area all sits up against the entire side of the drainage. Making it as deep as anywhere in the world, imo. So back to the story. Three sats ago i dug down to the bottom and tape measured it. 40- 42". Then from the pics you see we had about 33" more on an entire mountain side. But if you want to count what the cabin snow total is, which is about 5 miles away and where the totals come from? You might have about 40".
Just saying

I've been there. I have ridden all over that place for the last 12 years. I know where the pockets are but the average visitor doesn't. They would be deeply disappointed to arrive to less than average snow conditions. I'm not bagging on ya, but if the snow were really that good on Buff Pass there would be way more than just a few guys poking around every weekend. I spoke with the dealer in Kremmling last weekend and he said they only went up to test and tune turbo setups and then go back home. Certainly wasn't for fun. I wish that the storms would start dropping in on us West of the Divide instead of dumping it down on the Front Range but that is what is happening right now. Just crappy conditions everywhere, if it weren't so crappy I might have fired mine up already.

:( I'm picking up my sled from the dealer friday and was hoping to check her out on some of the trails. Hopefully the roads are rideable.

For those looking for solid gauranteed snow, check out
Snowy Range in Wyo, just outside of Laramie. We hit areas with 4-5 feet of snow. Just FYI

damn i get tired of the b.s. on here. people act as if they let someone in on a area to ride it will be forever tarnished. i rode buff pass on the day before thankgiving and it was so good we rode it again on the day after, driving 3 1/2hrs each way. i have never rode there before and it was really good for early season riding. spent most of friday off trail. sure we found a few landmines but luckily no casualties:D there was plenty of snow, dont know about 3ft on top of 40in base but plenty of snow. Soooooo if i wake up before you and cut up the snow before you get there or you think you are the only one that can ride there, TUFF, GET OVER IT CAUSE IT AINT "YOUR" SNOW AND IT AINT "YOUR" MOUNTAIN! there are plenty of place we ALL can ride
