3 New DOO motors for '09!!!

they already have a 250hp supercharged 4stroke in the sea doo. rumor has it a similar engine will be going in a sled

you obviously havnt looked at the weight of that motor & you think a yammi is heavy.yammi has a 250+ supercharged 4 in there waverunner 1800cc but would not put that beast in a snowmobile.doo, poo & cat have to work at meeting the 2010 emissions thats why the motor changes yammi already meets them so they will do other things.

I've been keeping an eye on ski doo last years wondering why they haven't use the boat motor technology in their sleds. About DAMN time.........do some research on them some time and you will see that they will not be going to 4 strokes. Their boat motors 2 strokes are running just as clean if not cleaner than the 4 strokes are of mercery and yamaha. Had a buddy that was yanking my chain and said in 5 years everybody will be 4 stroke. Told him put 100 bucks on it that not all will be..................he shut up after I showed him the 100 for our other friend to hold till then. I will be interesting what do will come out with. My wifes 07 1000 uses a 1/4 of what my 05 900 Polaris uses I use about a quart to a tank. And it stays cooler than mine also.....have never seen that thing get hot once.

Yeah.... I would think they would concentrate on perfecting their engines and drive trains before they move on, but people still buy them regardless, so it probably doesn't matter... Good Luck...

I have a mountain maxx 700, and have 2 friends with the same sleds. great gas mileage and it won't die, so I don't know where you get your information. \

Just a rumor. We know the 600 e-tec is coming out. My dealer told me that BRP is staying with the current lineup and they are just gonna work on the issues that are already there. I asked him because I was in the mood to get a new sled. I didn't wanna get a 800XP if there was a 1000 coming out. He told me to get the 800XP.

He knows that I don't buy every year. Why would he steer me to an 800, when he knows that if a 1000 came out I'd buy that.

That's the sprit ski doo! Instead of fixing the problems on the xp, let's just build some more new junk so everyone will forget about last years new junk.

Doo guys will be all over the new '09's hoping and praying that they'll be perfect, clutching and engine. They'll be all happy and glad they have the latest "tech" from BRP that they'll forget they still produce junk that they won't fix. Sure they'll warranty a few engines, but still. . . Well, you know the rest of the story.

It would take alot of engineering.

I have one of those motors. It is too long just with the block and then add the supercharger on the side (It is a direct connect to the crank, no belt, uses a clutch set up), it is way too wide to fit the chassis.

Pull the third cylinder, and come up with a roots type charger, and it might fit.

That motor is one heavy mo-fo in the SeaDoo, but it absolutely rips. Guys are turbo'ing these things, and getting into the low 90's!! Too fawkin fast for me on the water.

Look at auto industry they change things around so often. Example full size trucks, use to be an avg 7 years of body styles and ect......when chevy changed the body style in only 4 years(2003?) the secondhand market got flooded!!! First some people didn't want to buy the new body style, then they gave out rates that makes it cheaper than buying used if payments are your way. 2.9% or 0% on 48months....now almost all manufactors offer this....great investments...

What do we call this "a ripple effect!!!" Good and THE BAD!!! But still cool!!

I say we get it right before starting new headach's!! The consumers that buy new sleds every coulpe years will take most of this right up the tail pipe!!!!!! I see the used RT to XRS to XP are selling faster than water runs down the river......What will the Xp be worth middle of next season and how many will be for sale????

I hope this pans out for all us!!!!

The electronics industry is the worst at this--i.e. computers, cell phones, tv's, etc. I bought a 1 gb SD card for our new camcorder 2 years ago for $80--damn things are $10 on sale now! Everybody that bought the I-phone from Apple will be pissed when the next newer, smaller, lighter one comes out. Sleds are nearly as bad--each year, the manufacturers add/change something to make you want the new one--they wouldn't stay in business otherwise. The last part of the above-quote sez it all--new toys are cool, but we sure are payin' for it!
