21 Alpha Set Up/Shock Pressure

In addition, are the intakes still an issue? Was looking at a SSI/BDX Pro-tectair.. Any thoughts or opinions?
I used Eternabond which is a sticky roofing tape, cut into 1/2" thin strips to seal the entire intake clamshell to hood crack, there just is not enough screws to prevent gaps. I used K&N air cleaner grease to seal the rubber gasket between the hood and intake manifold. I believe the rubber gasket there is not flexible enough in the cold so the grease prevents any leakage. You don't have to take any thing apart. Worked like a champ. I have no comment about the Pro-tectair as I have not see one in use.

Cinno, Mtn Viper and Vern. Thanks for your shock recommendations, are any of you by chance running an Elevate kit? I just received mine for the alpha and IceAge recommends 10lb higher pressures in skis and rts, back to stock on fts.
I was thinking 70-75 skis 45 fts and 135 rts
Does that seem like a good starting point? (I’m 165 without gear) thanks

No elevate here, I’d say that would be a good starting point. Just bring your pump with and fine tune on the hill, it’s easy enough to do.

No elevate yet, however would like your comments after you ride it for a while. My guess the reason for the pressure changes is to stabilize the sled as your riding higher and the sled is no longer cradled by the snow surrounding it. Riding higher should make the sled feel more responsive, and easier to turn. Would love to try it before dropping the coin. Let us have your comments sometime about what you liked and didn't like about it .

Agee here with Vern. Remember for those not familiar with air shocks you must remove all weight on the shocks when reading the pressure and/or changing it.

I’ll gladly report once I get out West for a trip.

And be at least close to the same temp as you are riding. Setting them at 60 degrees in a shop then heading to the mountain is no good.

I ran across a friend of mine that has a shop in Idaho- https://hubsperformance.com/.. I am in Wyoming and when you come out west here and ride- he has some great infor on setting up our Alpha's
He does recommend a lot higher pressure in the FTS that what the manual states- I run min 60 psi and max 70.. he has seen the rail break with pressure below 50 psi... I an not a cornice jumper either but just putting it out there..
I also am running the pro-tectair and have had zero snow in the intake track since installed- great product.
