2026 Summit X and Expert Ride Thoughts

That is why I go summit x, the feeling of the sled being loose and easy to put where you want it. Lets be frank you can put a summit x anywhere a summit expert can go, as it comes down to the rider and their experience and also where they want to go, the expert is way easier than previous 23-25 but it is still more work at the end of the day, like a polaris. I know guys will say polaris is easier but it is just what they are accustomed to. Its like those expert riders they say it is easier and not hard to ride, well they are just use to the sled. Its like if you run your sled at 34(narrow) and then move it back to 35 centered or 36, you will find it harder to ride and more work, ride it for a few days or less and it becomes normal. But it does not mean the 34 is not easier. When u ride sleds back to back to back you see these little things. I said this when 23 came and the new expert, i peg at 20% more effort, most guys do not notice it because everyone sucks at the beginning of the season and they also love their new sled and grow into manuvering it. It was only at the middle to end of the season that I got tons of calls and messages on how to make it easier etc. This is not the case for everyone as if your a bigger guy that 20% makes you ride the sled awesome where as if you were on an x you would be over riding it. This is why you have to match yourself to whe you ride. I do most shows and you know how many people tell me they ride the steepest and deepest tress....EVERYONE! but when i go on any mtn I see tracks everywhere so obiously people over evaluate their skills, which is fine. I know how much I weight, what i like to do, and the best sled that allows me to improve and have the most fun, its why I choose a summit x. Some of us on the team have many sleds and I was surprised when I asked some of the guys what they are riding, they said expert , but they also got a summit x, I asked the reason and they say cause its easier and sometimes that is better. I totally get that but most people out there have one sled, and they have to choose the right one. I do know that almost everyone on the team now rides ds3 on the expert. When that ski came out i hated it. Those guys said they loved it, then they did not, then we cut it to make it easier to turn, they loved it, now they outright hate it, but it sucks you have to spend a lot of money to change skis. Again why I went X, I love the 32 but the 34 is awesome to and the bennefits of everything else is better on the x for me.
I'm getting an expert. I'm 180 and 6' 1. I've jumped back and forth a bunch on stuff. Even on different brands. You are right that you wouldn't want to go back in time and ride old iron. After you've rode something that is easy you want the same or easier. Kind of like working for $20. You want $25 the next time not $15.
I always set skis narrow. Some people say they handle better centered. Depends on handling your looking for. Centered makes them heavier handling. Doo rep said expert sidehills better in precision. That also makes them heavier handling. Looked at x and expert. Can't tell any difference, in feel, on steering or skis without riding. Expert tips up easier.

put ds3 on it, i hate the ds 4 ski same with the new 26, but they keep using it cause it is more precise, but way more work. tony, jeremy, jay, blaine etc all run ds 3 or ds2 on it
Do the 2026 sleds have an updated DS4 ski on them? In addition to the updates that were made in 2025?
