2018 mototrax?

Some of these kits are really making advances and this one has to be probably the most natural looking aggressive kit so far .

How can it not work , nice one guys .

IMO real engineering does not always look "natural" or "aggressive". I don't know much about this particular kit, it sure does look nice but judging from the number of complaints it sure sounds like it needs less "natural looking aggressiveness" and more R&D and even more good old fashion CAD, FEA and design optimization time. Sometimes less bling is more....:face-icon-small-win

Anyone catch the CNBC show "Adventure Capitalist" when Mototrax was on it last month? Its an adventure version of shark tank. Randy got destroyed by the investors. No idea of basic business metrics or company valuation. It looked like the investors had done their homework and visited these forums. The only offer made to Mototrax for investment was contingent on MT getting a new CEO, Randy declined. I have yet to see or hear of more than a handful of people on these forums or the many Facebook groups buying a 2018 MT. Sad, because this company could have done it. They launched perfectly, but started believing their own hype and lost sight of the customer and dealers who were critical to their continued success.

I know for a fact that both Randy and Danny are gone. The future survival of MotoTrax is up in the air. They need to upgrade the kits, for the original owners (at no cost), to salvage any kind of a reputation moving forward. Just not sure that is gonna be in the cards.

That’s ludicrous!

You see Polaris buying everyone a new sled in 05/06 when the 900 was a FLOP!? Or arctic cat or ski doo buying everyone 30 belts a season just to keep on the snow? NOPE!!

It’s a risk everyone that bought a mototrax kit took on their own. The “cheaper new thing” isn’t what they say it is......

Kinda like falling for one of those Craigslist or email scams, Promising great things for no effort at all! Hahah.

You ever buy a 30 pack of underwear or socks? That right there will teach you why you seemingly get so much for so little.

Them drawers will have You “pinch and rolling” all day. And those socks........... you’ll pull up your pant leg to pull up the sock that you think is there. But the band is actually somewhere around the arch of your foot!!!

Everyone is ready to hop on the next new thing. Sometimes it’s cheaper some times it’s not. And then when that new Lil company tanks, people are looking for compensation.

You can wish and post on forums in one hand and take a big dookie in your other hand. One will fill up pretty quickly the other will not.

How many of you MT haters that post crap on this post have MT kit? I have taken the high road when dealing with them and I feel I have been treated pretty decent and I knew the risk when I bought it. I have all the updated parts and have high hopes that I don’t have any other failures.

I did like the way my kit handled last year and I think the new updates will fix the issues I had.

I don’t have a kit. Just don’t like people complaining about something that they should have taken into consideration before spending their money..... like in some way airing their grievances on here will magically make all their problems go away. Lmao.

Well y'all are missing the point then. Ya I bought a kit with high hopes. I didn't hope that it was the best thing ever I hoped that the pleasant attentive interaction I had on the phone with them would translate into an ethic that they would work with me on breakage or redesigns or just not be total dickwads which is where they let us down. We bought into the company and I feel they mistreated us over, and over, and over, when it would've been just as easy to take the high road, and avoid a lot of ugliness.

Ps, I've been "done" with them as a company for a year but after reading about new management I thought I'd try emailing them asking about the front yoke part, that clearly was needed because they come on the new kits, and, no reply. Hat was a week ago. So, yet again, they fall down.

So for me, it's more about saving some poor soul from going down the fateful road these jerks have paved. And ya, I do believe that in a nieche market like this, these posts are for sure damaging to them and they can suck my track. Happy new year everyone!

I cant imagine there is very much profit in running a small tier snow bike company these days vs. the effort and hours you would need to put in to make a go of it. Clearly the trend is that if you come out with a "GOOD" product you get bought out for your ideas. UFO bought by TS, TS bought by Polaris and now Yeti bought by Camso. If your product is nothing special and there have been a few over the last few years, well, we all know how that story ends. Oblivion.

The big fish have moved in, its a done deal, ALL the small guys are going to have a tough time from here on in IMO just because of stories like this MT fiasco. A new buyer will have the fear of not being supported in a season or two when the small company ceases production, its a logical conclusion for a new buyer to reach. God help you as a small company if you have a warranty issue. That's pretty much the kiss of death.

At this point even if you made a better mouse trap it may not sell but hopefully you can cash in by getting bought out. In the end it's just not a viable business model over the long term as the small guys will end up working for 50 cents an hour to remain competitive price wise.

IMO we are headed for a period of less choices, I guess we will see.

If the director of sales and founder/owner/CEO are both gone from MT, I can't see how that isn't the nail in the coffin for MT. Unless new leadership is going to do a huge rollout with complimentary updated parts for 2017's and significantly improve dealer relations/ customer service, there's not much hope. I'd guess it would take $300k in capital just to accomplish the first two tasks. Tough to find someone willing to invest that kind of coin into a company who I would bet is down 75% in sales compared to last year.

It wouldn’t take 1/10 that much capital. All I want is the parts that they make now and come standard to correct the issues seen on last years kit.

Have a 17 MT got updates as they came out last season, before i had a failure. Never had problems with customer service. 3 rides so far this year. Best upgrade was the new track. Ordered the evo link last week. they threw in billet brake mount update for free.

What new track? What’s an evo link?

I liked the single shock design, simplicity of the whole setup, looks, price. I've ridden sleds for 25 years and seen my share of brand bashing because of this or that. Companies try new things some work some don't. Just keep making things bettervabd moving forward and before you know it you have perfection. Hopefully they have deep enough pocket books to weather the storm.
