2017 Timbersled

after sum riding and testing, the general opinion of the test riders was a TSS TS short track was as agile and had the best bump suspension of the two other non 3rd shock kits. The light weight Yeti wasn't the game changer expected or the ski.............good but, needs the 3rd shock. Belt drive, same old issue,l built sleds back when that was a new and great thing ? OK, but cost / vs weight savings vs maintenance , belt drive has been a good marketing ploy for some, but again not a game changer out in the snow.

The real next step is to go past chains and belts and get the bike drive wider and direct to the drive shaft, until then skip the belts please. Not happening in 17 I would say.

So, make'n cheaper kits as good as available today and letting more riders enjoy the sport, best idea yet.

The Yeti has a 3rd shock. Yeti was a game changer in my book compared to the old TS design. Puts power down better, climbs better and whats about to come out will ride better than the TSS. Add up design, looks, build construction, factory cooler option, bumper, wheel kit, better drive bearing design, better ski, doesnt soak your feet and back. Thats what we call a game changer LOL

Belt drive a marketing ploy ? Wait until u see the dyno chart efficiencies between the two. U might wanna separate fact from your fiction !

Agree with MOST of these facts about the yeti.. Aside from that though, I've ridden a couple 129/146 and I'm not sure if it's a set up thing but the yetis do not climb up out of the deep snow like a Timbersled. Just trench for a bit. Once you are going they are awesome but getting going, say in a tricky situation, seems like even a Timbersled ST will walk out of something where even the 146 yeti was just trenching. And whenever we take off anywhere seems like the yeti struggles(trenches excessively) at first to get up. Don't get me wrong they are sweet, but this is a big thing to me as getting out of tight spots seems to be a regular thing on these bikes lol.

For a "first year" product they are top notch, and definitely gave Timbersled a kick in the right direction, and obviously yeti is going to have some more unreal things going on in the future.

Also the drive efficiency thing, yes they are that much more efficient coming off the bottom end, but once you are half throttle plus there is minimal difference. I really did notice the throttle response difference, but with it trenching so much taking off, didn't really change anything for me. It was a tad easier to keep the RPMs up on the bike, so that is a definite plus. On both yetis tho when clutching to keep revved out I noticed a driveline shudder. probably normal, and didn't bother me.

PS. The first time you go to lift the back end of a yeti, don't lift as hard as you would on the Timbersled, you'll hit yourself in the face it's so light haha

I have some more opinions but not looking to write a novel cuz in the end we are all havin a blast!! Cheers
