2017/18 Snowy Range snow conditions

Could someone post pictures or video of the snow quality currently? would like to see what it looked like right before this storm!

Yesterday. There are pockets of ok snow out there in north face trees, but open areas are blown hard and thin. Just needs to snow. There is a base setting up. Wasnt hitting as much stuff like I did a couple weeks ago.

Heading out from MN solo. Would like to hook up with someone riding out of Green Rock on Thurs. and Friday. 58 years old, in good shape. 2013 XM with fresh big bore. Need some break in time. Hauling sled in the box of black 2002 GMC crew cab. Staying in Centennial. Thanks

Any word on how the snow is getting in from the Green Rock parking area? Headed up Sunday to do some clutch testing hopefully.

Riding in from Green Rock is doable. Lot to trail along highway is ok. Highway/trail has poor coverage yet can be navigated along edges. Lake Marie and west/north is good. I rode Thurs. and Friday.

Thanks to all the great people who let me ride with them the last few days. Gotta love this sport and the people involved!!

We rode today. Spot on with more snow on the west side of Mirror lake. It wasn’t bad getting up there, 130 is a little spotty in some parts. Tough to find anything un tracked right now. Not a whole lot of base. But decent snow to ride on. Some spots are well over 40” of snow. Still land mines out there. Buddy’s sled found one.

Planning trip for the weekend of 22nd. R there any trail markers up yet? especially north up into sand lake area or queally hut

No markers, no grooming. Some intersection signs, but they may be up all year?

Sure am glad we hauled the sleds out Thursday. Snow was very darn good. we rode Friday, Saturday. Only time we saw any tracks was close to the popular areas. Friday we were the first tracks up ****house tree rode all the way around the mountain past where quealy sits then we made it back through gap lakes, that was sketchy. Saturday worked our way north to sand lake, didn't see a single track up there either. The drainages are still very sketchy, I recommend not dropping into them yet unless you want to get wet.:face-icon-small-sho

Little vid. No tracks before we showed up!

The timestamp on the video said 2015 or was it from this weekend? It sure was beautiful weather either way.
