2016 Poo,,,,,,,,hmmm, that's it?

I think they r. My buddy just bought a 2015 summy 800 SP 154" with a travel cover, rear gas can storage, tunnel bag, xtra oil, extra belt, and a couple other small dealer goodies. OTD 10,000
 
Hmm with my golden ticket the same list price plus I get a custom sled that fits my taste rather than one that looks like everybody else's. I went to the doo site to check out there snowcheck and it was like I went back in time 10 years. Two colors no options other than electric start what a joke.

You can buy a new 15 pro for $9,000 old technology is cheap.
 
For a sled that I can get to almost 400 lbs by adding a pipe, which will give a nice little power bump on top of the HO power bump, I will gladly pay more.
In fact if I'm being honest, why does it matter whose name is on the sled? If only one manufacturer is offering a sled this light, with comparable stock power, in a chassis that we all know works and just keeps getting better, that is who I'm giving my money to.
 
The new sleds coming out are awesome. I'm excited for next year. I just hope we get some better snow.

I really don't think 50 lbs makes that big a difference. I ride with people that range from 150lbs to 300+lbs. Of course weight is important but 50lbs nope. Total weight of sled and rider together is more important. You would save money losing weight on your body than your sled. Just go on a diet if you need too. I've seen doo's perform very well against poo's. Both are great sleds and both have cons and pros. Doo has a better engine, track, front suspension and storage options. Poo's are lighter, narrow bodies and better running boards. This is just my opinion and what l like about the sleds.

I'm sure you got your information from somewhere but those rtr weights are off. Polaris was around 516 but your ski doo weight is definitely off. I'll try to find my source again but I know it was closer to 560lbs! No matter what weights are the ski doo still loves to dig deep trenches and is so far from having good geometry it's sad. Ski doo needs to burn those blue prints and start over because XM is not a mountain chassis it's a wheelchair for lazy riders.

I'm Going to have to disagree.
My buddy is 50# lighter than me and with the same sled setup same track ect.
Every hillclimb every time he kills me.
We ride at about the same level except i ride 3x as much as him.
My brother is 30# lighter and its not quite so noticeable until we get a really deep day and i have to poach his tracks to make some lines.

So yes 50# is very noticeable!

Mostly in and out of trees, steep canyons and gullies.
The biggest difference is how the sled gets on top of the snow and stays there.
Light guys/ sleds can keep from trenching out as soon.
If you're not seeing as much of a difference in how the sleds perform the heavy guys are able to use momentum to overcome the difference.
Not so easy to keep momentum when there are 7 direction changes in 200' elevation.
I put the wieght difference already.
We all ride 163 pro's.

I've rode quite a bit with a buddy with an xm and my pro will spank that thing.
I've no desire to ride a heavier/ weaker/ wider/ flimsier sled.

50lbs is huge.

im around 40-50 lbs heavier than my main riding buddy. i can out ride him in all areas other than straight up climbs. we have identical stock 2014 pro 155's and he go straight up the hill on certain grades/snow conditions where as i might have to side hill for part of the climb.
 
Weight matters unless you don't ride a Pro.

Worst thing that happened for the other brands was the CFI becoming dependable. Now they have to and are dropping pounds. Bow to the '11 Pro and thank it for your new lighter '16 if you ride something different.
You don't have to get on your knees but it is a recognized position of worship. Do it in private if you need. You'll feel better.

Weight matters to me because I like value. How I perceive value may be different than some but it's barbeque season right now and while shopping yesterday I had this analogy cross my mind.

If you figure in weight and price;

Buying a Yamaha is like paying for hamburger. Some people just like to come home with a heavy shopping bag.
Buying a Doo is like picking up chuck steak. Some people like to pick at the little pieces of meat and ignore the fat. Big looking cut though.
Buying a Cat is like looking for the discounted old stuff. Some people think if it sits in the same wrap for a while it tastes better and more pounds for your dollar.
Buying a Pro is like picking up a nice thick piece of tenderloin. You don't get a lot of weight for your dollar but it sure does taste good.
