2016 back together and ready for tomorrow

Steering is way more with mod on 16.
Is that a gripper ski on the 16?
Dimensional, How does the gripper ski compare to the 16 cat ski?

I really like what u are doing.

Los frijoles estan muy caliente dijo la mama osa!

Yeah on the gripper the 16 ski is better but it bites hard so I borrowed a set from co2 for a backcountry competition hoping it will give less bite and more front end play for tech riding

Kick some azz down there today Mac. Wish I could have taken the time off work to compete as well. Looks like they might have got a few inches of fresh snow which should help.

For those of us riding low elevation, do you feel the 21/49 gearing would be the better option? I would be looking at the 2.6 track with this setup as the 3in would be too much for the amount of trail I have to ride.

As far as the belt drive, I have done some initial research, after you set the tension is it pretty hands off or do you find it is something that needs a lot of monitoring/adjustment? Seems to be lots of good kits out there now, I would be one that would like to retain the oil injection tank too. I just don't want something that I would be constantly adjusting, after driving 8 hrs to get to the riding spot I prefer to limit the wrenching!

Thanks,

Boards are solid.

The tki on my 14, put it on and haven't touched it. 300 miles

On the low elevation gearing I would run the 2.33 gears, high elevation 2.42 to 2.52

I'll have to measure a few things on boards etc...

Is there a way too post videos from Facebook?

I'm running that set up with my 153 x 2.6 ....TKI belt drive with 2.33 ratio for 0-5000 feet. Seems to be spot on !
I played around with several other ratios after talking with Tom at TKI ...we both decided that the 2.33 (21/49 equiv.) seems to work the best.
I am running the 85 Duro track as well ...I too have some extended trail riding to the play areas

The snow at the competition sucks bad, really bad. can't really tell anything on handling other than it feels heavy! and nothing I can really do for that in the stock class. The setup works but man this snow is rough.

Pictures or video or else it didn't happen haha.

The Cat should definitely shine in poor snow conditions over the Pros.

There are two comps. One is the hill climb like they had last year. New this year is a backcountry comp showing off your skills in the trees/steeps. They have a bunch of judges staged at certain points along certain areas.

Sounds like my kind of competition, have to look into this for next year! Wish I knew about it, any pics?

Kinda sounds like ice dancing.

Do you get judged on outfit originality?

I think extra points should be awarded for anyone wearing the 1 piece suit!

Back to the results; awesome job Wyo!

Any cat besides ones with narrow boards and added steering wouldn't have stood a chance!
Pro's where kicking *** really and there is no way in heII I would go against some of these guys on a totally stock cat on this terrain. Hard pack, very small area, icy in spots, some crusty break through stuff in one set of trees. The terrain was nasty with conditions. No one in there right mind would ride it with any other options. I was the only non turbo in mod class against pros and one XM (ben) all good riders. But all the pros had stock tracks, not good but they still had some great pulls.
I built my sleds for this, didn't get deductions and rode my azz off. Rode hard, but clean.
Also, one lady on a turbo pro rode, she can ride! Very impressed!

Look on Facebook. Back Country Riders Association BCRA
There looking to do at least 10 events next year. It's a points overall race, and a place race, ,, and if all goes well they will have 5 digit payouts.

You want to see if you have what it takes, come ride.

Great group of guys cheering each other on and going for it. Good time

I'm really liken the way you build your sleds up to your riding style and expectations.
