2016 Axys randomly turning off

It is not related to the tether, or the key/switch. I know this because I disconnected both. The machine just randomly dies while riding. Sometimes at high rpm, sometime at low rpm. It happens very randomly. Sometimes multiple times in a few minutes, sometimes rides for an hour without dying. When it is dying, there is no way to feather the throttle to keep it alive. It always starts right up immediately. Kill switch appears to be working fine.

loose wire somewhere?

any ideas?

I thought about TPS, but I can make the TPS fail by holding the throttle out as I depress it, and when it starts to die, I am able to release the throttle and keep the engine running. I guess my problem could be TPS, but there is no way to keep it running once it starts to die, unlike with TPS issues.

Mine's doing it too when I'm breaking trail. My display stopped working as well halfway through the last ride. Intermittently turns on/off. Brand new sled. Guess we'll see how well my warranty is. :face-icon-small-fro

@matchrocket: When mine did what you describe, it was water/moisture in some of the connectors under the hood. some had rusted a bit. might need to be cleaned and dielectric grease added.

Relays under the hood that are mounted upside down can corrode & cause lots of issues. I'd check those first.
